DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (01/1/20): NBA DFS Lineups

Khris Middleton - NBA DFS Picks, Daily Fantasy Basketball

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on January 1, 2020. Dale Johnson provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

From all of us here at RotoBaller, we hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year's Eve! Let's get back into the swing of things and start this new decade on the right foot.

Wednesday only has a four-game slate so there will be a few popular options in most lineups.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 01/1/20.  You can also check out today's FanDuel lineup picks. Remember to monitor injury news as the slate can completely change before line-up lock.

Featured Promo: New Novig users get a $25 purchase match (50% discount up to $25) on your first Novig deposit, and 6 free months of RotoBaller's "Big-4" Premium Pass (NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL) which includes exclusive tools for Betting, Props, DFS and more! CLAIM IT NOW

DraftKings DFS Guards

Khris Middleton - SG/SF, MIL v. MIN ($7,500)

Despite teammates Giannis Antetokounmpo (back) and Eric Bledsoe (leg) both returning from injuries, Middleton has been dominant lately. Middleton has scored at least 20 points and 40 DraftKings fantasy points in four of his past five games. Despite all this, his price tag actually dropped from his previous two slates. Middleton faces a Minnesota team on Wednesday who is desperately missing Karl-Anthony Towns (knee) and will also not have Andrew Wiggins (illness). The Timberwolves give up the third-most DraftKings fantasy points to opposing shooting guards this season. Middleton has solidified is role on offense despite sharing the ball with the reigning MVP.

D.J. Augustin - PG/SG, ORL @ WAS ($4,500)

Markelle Fultz has been rejuvenated this season, but has really struggled lately. Enter Augustin, who has slowly been ramping up minutes and production off the bench. Augustin has at least 24 minutes off the bench in nine of his past 10 games. Over that 10-game stretch, Augustin has posted double-digit scoring six times and at least five assists five times. The injury-riddled Washington Wizards are ranked in the bottom-ten teams in allowing DK fantasy points to opposing point guards. Augustin makes for a good punt play Wednesday.

DraftKings DFS Forwards

Julius Randle - PF/C, NYK v. POR ($8,000)

No one has enjoyed having Elfrid Payton in the starting lineup more than Randle. Since Payton rejoined the starters, Randle has posted four straight games of at least 20 points and is currently on a three-game streak of at least 30 points in each game. Over the four-game stretch, Randle has averaged 29.5 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 three-pointers made. Randle offers very little in terms of defensive stats, but his offensive production is too good to pass up. Not to mention, Portland gives up the most DK fantasy points to opposing power forwards this season. Randle should have an easy path to fantasy gold in Carmelo Anthony's return to The Garden.

Jonathan Isaac - SF/PF, ORL @ WAS ($6,600)

Isaac is a monster on defense this season. Over his past four games, he is averaging 4.0 steals and 2.3 blocks. The steals are a little inflated due to a seven-steal game he posted two games ago, but the fact Isaac is capable of putting up these kind of numbers speaks for itself. Aaron Gordon (Achilles) did not practice Tuesday and is in danger of missing Wednesday's contest with the Wizards which would leave more minutes and usage for Isaac. The Wizards also allow the fourth-most second chance points and the eighth-most blocks to opposing teams this season. Isaac is poised for another good showing on defense here, especially with the injuries Washington is facing.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Nikola Vucevic - C, ORL @ WAS ($8,200)

You can probably notice a trend in these picks. The Wizards are incredibly undermanned, especially in the frontcourt, which usually opens the door for opposing teams to put up huge numbers. The Wizards have allowed over 100 points to opposing teams in every game since November 4th. Opposing centers also record the highest field-goal percentage and fourth-highest three-point percentage against the Wizards. Vucevic himself has also been on a tear with at least 20 points in six of his past eight games. With Aaron Gordon (Achilles) also possibly sitting, Vucevic is a top-tier center play in this slate.
