DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks (3/8/16): NBA DFS Advice

By Keith Allison [CC-BY-SA-2.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0)], via Wikimedia Commons

Sam Nedimyer highlights the top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for 3/8/16. These are the top value and sleeper plays for your DraftKings NBA DFS lineups.

Insane. That’s the only word I could come up with to describe the last few days in the DFS industry. The point totals for cash games have been out of this world over the last few days. Don’t fret. The numbers will stabilize shortly while the prices of players catch up over the next day or two.

In this article, I will be providing you with Daily NBA picks for DraftKings for 3/8/16. The picks will range from some of the elite players, to mid-priced options, and value plays. Be sure to check out my podcast live streaming on Google+ every Monday and Thursday right here at Rotoballer for all your DFS needs.

DraftKings DFS Point Guards

Kyle Lowry (vs BKN, $8,800)

It was a toss up between Lowry and John Wall here. Lowry gets the nod mainly because Brooklyn is so bad at defending. That and he is cheaper. He is averaging nearly 51 DraftKings points per game over the last six games and will be squaring off against one of the worst back courts in the league. Beware the blowout, however.

Jordan Clarkson (vs ORL, $5,900)

Coming off his 25 point, four rebound game, Clarkson looks like a strong mid-tier pick to return some nice value against Orlando on Tuesday night. Byron Scott seems to be fine with giving Clarkson a full compliment of minutes, plus it doesn’t hurt his stock that Lou Williams and Mamba are ailing.

Shelvin Mack (vs ATL, $4,300)

There’s a reason Utah brought Mack over and it was to play minutes. He has been kind of so-so since he put on a Jazz uni, but here’s the kicker. The Jazz get the Hawks on Tuesday. Do you believe in the revenge game? I really don’t, but something tells me the perfect storm of variables plays in Mack’s favor.

DraftKings DFS Shooting Guards

Victor Oladipo (at LAL, $7,100)

I realize that the prices of individual players is directly correlated to recent ownership numbers. But how has Oladipo’s price stayed stagnant over the last week? He has clearly been the focal point of the Orlando offense since the All Star Break and is playing a boatload of minutes. Look for him to be heavily owned yet again in most leagues.

Garrett Temple (at POR, $3,200)

This is your basic buy low choice. Bradley Beal will be out for at least Tuesday’s game in Portland, so the Wizards will need a body to play on the court. Temple isn’t necessarily a sexy choice, but he will be facing off against a team that ranks in the bottom third of points allowed to the two guard.

DraftKings DFS Small Forwards

Carmelo Anthony (at DEN, $8,400)

Lost in Knicks horrendous season is the fact the Melo is actually averaging career highs in both assists and rebounds per game. He is also chucking up over 18 shots per game. That kind of makes him not only cash safe, but the player with one of the highest floors in the industry. And he’s only $8,400.

Kawhi Leonard (at MIN, $8,200)

Before Monday night’s laugher, Leonard was on a string of 10 straight games in which he dropped at least 40 DraftKings points. In fact, his lowest scoring game during that span was a 40 point outburst in only 28 minutes against Sacramento. Despite going 9-for-23 from the field on Monday against Indiana, he still grabbed six boards and dished out two assists. There will be plenty of chances to stuff the stat sheet against Minnesota.

Gordon Hayward (vs ATL, $6,800)

Hayward’s price has dropped down to a point where it’s almost impossible to ignore. The Jazz have been playing faster since the All Star Break, which isn’t saying much considering they’re still slow, and Hayward has been benefitting from more possessions. After Hayward, there isn’t much in terms of bargains in the bin.

DraftKings DFS Power Forwards

Derrick Favors (vs ATL, $7,500)

The former Yellow Jacket has been buzzing on the court for nearly 40 minutes per game over the last couple weeks and there’s a strong indication that he will again against the Hawks. Atlanta is a team you can attackin the front court, especially when they are on the road. The only downside is the amount of Jazz players on this list. Surely not all of them will have strong games. Right?

Julius Randle (vs ORL, $6,200)

How about this juicy nugget: Randle is now a top five rebounder in the NBA. It’s true. Look it up. The Lakers are decimated in the front court right now and Randle has been raking in the minutes for LaLa Land. Look for him to drop another double-double on Tuesday.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Marcin Gortat (at POR, $6,800)

The Trail Blazers are giving up over 70 points per game to opposing centers over their last 10 games. That should be proof enough to roster the Polish Hammer.
