DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks (3/3/16): NBA DFS Advice

I could really get used to the Warriors playing the Thunder every single day. You know there is going to be a billion fantasy points and you know that only Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant are going to score 75% of those fantasy points from the Thunder’s side of the ball. I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling absolutely giddy utilizing the stars and scrubs strategy.

In this article, I will be providing you with Daily NBA picks for DraftKings for 3/3/16. The picks will range from some of the elite players, to mid-priced options, and value plays. Be sure to check out my podcast live streaming on Google+ every Monday and Thursday right here at Rotoballer for all your DFS needs. (Note: Today's podcast will be moved to Friday, 3/4/16, at 11am EST.)

DraftKings DFS Point Guards

Russell Westbrook (at GS, $11,200)

Steph Curry (vs OKC, $10,800)

So convinced am I that both of these guys will kill it Thursday night, that I am actually going to analyze a more important issue. Like, who would win in a fight- a bear or an alligator? Let’s say the battle royale takes place in the Florida Everglades, where both bears and gators reside, on the edge of standing water. After a failed attempt to take down the bear with the death roll, the gator runs away because it doesn’t know what else to do. At this point the bear strikes and is able to fit in a couple of vicious strikes with its left and right. In the end, no one dies, but judges in Vegas declare the bear the winner. In this scenario, I guess Westbrook is the bear, but no one will blame you if you want to roster the gator on Thursday.

Goran Dragic (vs PHO, $6,700)

It almost seemed like it happened overnight, but the Phoenix Suns have overtaken the Lakers and the Sixers as the team to target in fantasy basketball. Phoenix has been giving up north of 61 DraftKings points per game over their last ten to the point guard position. Sixty one! For Miami, Dragic has been given more freedom on the court over the last month, which has resulted in a nice run of extra production since February. Plus, I’m willing to bet he is still a bit sour on the Suns.

Darren Collison (at DAL, $5,500)

Not only does Collison spell Rajon Rondo at the point while Rondo sits, but the guy is actually seeing some court time as the two guard while Ben McLemore works his way back into the rotation. Collison is playing right around 30 minutes per game right now and there is honestly no end in sight for this current minutes run. His price is still relatively low compared to his return potential.

DraftKings DFS Shooting Guards

Dwyane Wade (vs PHO, $7,100)

No need to overthink this one. The Suns stink and Wade is pretty not bad. Not only is he projected as the highest scorer at the position of the night, but he is also projected as the top returner as well.

Josh Richardson (vs PHO, $3,500)

Who is Josh Richardson? You’ll have to check back in later to receive the biography, but his DFS portfolio is nothing short of spectacular. Over his last four games, he is averaging over 28 minutes of court time, nearly 11 points, 2.5 boards, and almost two steals. All of this while shooting over 65% from the field. He’s due for optimal performance tonight against one of the league’s worst perimeter defenses.

DraftKings DFS Small Forwards

Kevin Durant (at GS, $10,300)

As if you needed any evidence to support a KD roster, here it is: In two games against the Warriors this season, he is dropping 38.5 points, 13 boards, and five assists.

Kawhi Leonard (at NO, $7,700)

It wasn’t too long ago that Kawhi was a near $9k player. Then the injury hit and Popp toyed with us in playing him. He is still vastly underpriced and should return solid value against a bad Pelicans defense. The downside? He is right at the price that makes it almost impossible to work in a stars and scrubs lineup.

DraftKings DFS Power Forwards

DeMarcus Cousins (at DAL, $10,700)

Duh. Originally that “Duh” was the only thing I had written in this spot because it should be a no-brainer to have him on your radar every night. But power forward is looking rough on Thursday night. Do you really trust Anthony Davis in cash games and 50/50s? I sure don’t. Outside Boogie and this next guy, there’s really no one that can fit in comfortably with any DFS strategy.

David Lee (vs SAC, $4,300)

Despite a kind-of poor game against the Magic, Lee still returned over 4x to his owners. That’s the lowest yield he has returned since coming over to Dallas and it was a weird matchup against the Magic. So let’s it out the window. Enter Sacramento’s breakneck pace through the front door.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Alex Len (at MIA, $5,600)

It’s never really a sound idea to attack the Heat, but Len is someone the Suns are going to rely on heavily down the stretch. Mainly because there is no one else, outside of Tyson Chandler, to eat up minutes in the front court. Regardless if the Suns get blown out or not, Len should get his minutes.

Tim Duncan (at NO, $4,800)

Somehow, someway, Duncan has averaged 27.75 DraftKings points over his last three games. It’s true. Look it up. The Pelicans, spearheaded by Kendrick Perkins right now, have the uncanny ability to allow fantasy points in droves to opposing centers. Trust Timmy tonight.
