DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (8/8/18): MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on August 8th, 2018. Justin Bales' MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

There are 14 total games today, broken down into two slates. I opted to use players from both slates, as the early slate features four games, while the late slate features nine games. Overall, this article should help with both slates.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 8/8/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @BalesSJustin.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Luis Severino - P, at CWS ($11,900)

Severino has struggled in each of his last five starts, but he gets a matchup that he can take advantage of tonight. He gets a great matchup against the Chicago White Sox, and Severino features a 14-5 record with a 3.08 ERA this season. He has also flashed tremendous strikeout potential this season. Severino is a -270 favorite in a game set at 8.5 runs, and he can be considered in all leagues.

Jose Quintana - P, at KC ($8,300)

Quintana has been heating up over his last 10 starts, posting a 4-3 record with a 3.93 ERA. He has also been a better option on the road this season, and he'll be playing in one of most pitcher friendly stadiums in the MLB. Quintana also gets an elite matchup against the Kansas City Royals, and he's a -219 favorite in a game set at 9 runs. Quintana makes a solid option in all leagues for his price.

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Matt Carpenter - 1B, at MIA ($5,400)

Carpenter has caught fire once again. He's hitting .378 with a .757 slugging percentage and a 1.257 OPS over his last 10 games. He has also been a dominant option on the road this season. Carpenter gets a good matchup against Trevor Richards, and Carpenter makes an elite option in all leagues tonight.

Devon Travis - 2B, vs BOS ($3,700)

Travis has been playing at a high level recently, and he has scored double digit fantasy points in three of his last four games. He gets a good matchup against Brian Johnson tonight, and Travis owns 0.078 wOBA and 0.12 ISO differentials against lefties. He's hitting second in the Blue Jays lineup, and he can be used in all leagues tonight

Adrian Beltre - 3B, vs SEA ($3,900)

Simply put, Beltre is a player that can always be considered when he is playing against left-handed pitching in Texas. He owns 0.081 wOBA and 0.041 ISO differentials against lefties, although he does get a tough matchup against Marco Gonzales. Regardless, this game should feature plenty of runs, and Beltre makes a great option.

Francisco Lindor - SS, vs MIN ($5,800)

Lindor has caught fire over his last 10 games. Over that span, he's hitting .316 with five extra-base hits (two home runs), four RBIs, and two steals. He's hitting in one of the best offenses in the MLB, and should see plenty of opportunities to score fantasy points tonight. Lindor can be used in all leagues.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

J.D. Martinez - OF, at TOR ($5,500)

Martinez has caught fire over his last 10 games, posting a .333 average with a .615 slugging percentage and a 1.050 OPS over that span. He owns seven extra-base hits (two home runs), eight RBIs, and one steal in those games, as well. Martinez also features 0.018 wOBA and 0.098 ISO differentials against right-handed pitching. He can be used in all leagues.

Adam Duvall - OF, at WAS ($4,000)

Duvall has struggled quite a bit this season, but he comes with plenty of upside. He owns 47% hard-hit and fly ball rates with a 93 mph exit velocity over the last 15 days. Duvall has also been a more consistent and more powerful option against left-handed pitching. He gets a solid matchup against Tommy Milone, and Duvall can be considered in tournaments.
