DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (6/6/19): MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on June 6th, 2019. Daniel E. Dobish's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Thursday's slate of Major League Baseball features 12 of the 13 games, with seven early games with a first pitch from 12:10 p.m.-2:20 p.m. ET, and five evening games with a first pitch from 7:07 p.m.-10:10 p.m. ET. The only game which is not included in the DFS slate is the Houston-Seattle game at 3:40 p.m. ET, which is offered as a standalone game. Be sure to double-check the weather and the lineups before finalizing your roster.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 6/6/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too.

Today's Weather

The weather was a little rough in some areas on Wednesday, particularly the Midwest, but things are a lot more positive on Thursday. Winds will not play much of a factor at any of the MLB venues, with winds of 9 mph or less in all outdoor stadiums. The only trouble spot will be the Boston-Kansas City game at Kauffman Stadium, as they face a 30 percent or greater chance of precipitation for the entire day.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Ariel Jurado - P, TEX vs. BAL ($6,400 - EVENING)

Jurado has a very favorable matchup against RHP David Hess, who has been a terrible mess so far this season. The Orioles are 4-23 across the past 27 starts by Hess, while going 2-14 over his past 16 road outings and 0-12 in his past 12 against winning teams. As such, stack a lineup with Rangers hitters, and roll with Jurado for what should be a notch in his win column.

Brandon Woodruff - P, MIL vs. MIA ($8,900 - EARLY)

Woodruff was thrashed for six earned runs, 10 hits and two walks with five strikeouts over four innings in a no-decision in Pittsburgh last time out, but that's his only non-quality start performance in the past five outings. He has been money at home, going 5-0 with a 3.66 ERA and 51 strikeouts over just 39 1/3 innings at Miller Park. He is also 2-0 with a 4.26 ERA and 1.01 WHIP across 31 2/3 innings during day starts.

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Yasmani Grandal - C, MIL vs. MIA ($4,800 - EARLY)

Spending a few extra bucks on the top catcher on the board is wise. The Milwaukee backstop is 13-for-39 (.333) with three doubles, a triple, four homers and seven RBI over the past 10 games. He is facing LHP Caleb Smith, and he is hitting a robust .310 (18-for-58) with two doubles, a triple and five homers with 11 RBI and a 1.044 OPS vs. LHP.

Albert Pujols - 1B, LAA vs. OAK ($3,900 - EVENING)

Pujols has hot over the past week, going 6-for-21 (.286) with two doubles, two homers and eight RBI with a 1.042 OPS across the past seven days. Sure, he isn't the feared hitter he once was in St. Louis, but he has a low price tag and a lot of production lately to make him worth a roll of the dice. He also has two homers in his career in 25 career at-bats vs. RHP Mike Fiers.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. - 2B/OF, TOR vs. NYY ($3,900 - EVENING)

Gurriel, who can also be used in outfield in addition to the keystone, has a small price tag but huge production over the past 10 games. He is 11-for-36 (.306) with four doubles, three homers, five RBI and nine runs scored with a stolen base across the past 10 contests, averaging 10.3 Fantasy Points Per Game (FPPG). He is hitting just .218 vs. RHP this season, but he is slashing .292/.346/.625 vs. LHP, so he should fare well against LHP J.A. Happ.

Nolan Arenado - 3B, COL at CHC ($5,500 - EARLY)

Arenado eats everyone up, really, but he is particularly outstanding against southpaws. He will face LHP Jose Quintana on Thursday afternoon in Wrigley, and Arenado is hitting .371 (23-for-62) with seven homers and 15 RBI with a 1.241 OPS vs. LHP as opposed to nine homers over 177 at-bats with a .943 OPS vs. RHP.

Manny Machado - SS/3B, SD vs. WAS ($3,500 - EVENING)

Machado faces a tough matchup against LHP Patrick Corbin and the visiting Nats, but he is just too hard to pass on at this salary. He is slashing just .223/.305/.324 with four homers in 188 at-bats against righties. However, he is hitting a robust .389 (14-for-36) with a double, six homers, 10 RBI and a 1.417 OPS against southpaws. Take advantage.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

JaCoby Jones - OF, DET vs. TB ($3,700 - EARLY)

Jones was 1-for-3 in Tuesday's game against the Rays, and that was good enough to push his hitting streak to 11 games. He is hitting .415 (17-for-41) with three homers, five runs scored and eight RBI during his current 11-game hitting streak. He is unlikely to face opener RHP Ryne Stanek in the first inning unless the Tigers go bonkers in the opener frame. Instead, he'll likely see LHP Jalen Beeks a couple of times. His overall average against lefties is 25 points higher than against righties, although he does hit for more power vs. RHP. Still, it won't take much to meet or exceed DFS salary expectations at this low price.

Bryan Reynolds - OF, PIT vs. ATL ($5,700 - EARLY)

Reynolds faces a favorable matchup against RHP Mike Foltynewicz, as he looks to keep the longest active hitting streak in the majors alive. The Bucs' outfield has hit safely in 13 straight, slashing .388/.444/.592 with 13 runs scored, two homers and nine RBI.
