DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Daily Fantasy College Football Advice for 10/20

Week eight of college football is upon us, which means this season is flying by entirely too fast! On DraftKings this week, they're sticking with the 10 game Main slate - kickoff at noon - and continuing the trend of using power five teams, many of which are ranked. The only downside to the latter part of that is that we keep getting games with lopsided totals. For instance, Alambama has been a mainstay on this slate, despite the fact that they're often favored by four touchdowns or more. Still, there are two really strong games to target and a few fringe hidden gems as well - more on that below.

Before we jump into player selections, it's important to look at a few Vegas lines worth knowing, as they can help us determine strong cash game and tournament options (stacks especially). Despite the SEC being a conference I shy away from because of the blowouts this season, lopsided matchups and lower point total projections, Auburn at Ole Miss looks like a strong target this week - visiting Auburn is just a four point favorite with a point total of 63.5. Another game that looks like a gem thanks to the close(ish) spread and really high total happens to be my favorite game stack target of the week - Memphis at Mizzou. The game features a 9.5 point spread (home Tigers favored) and a massive 73 point total. Outside of that, Oklahoma at TCU has promise (7.5 point spread, 62 point total) and I like the Penn State side of their matchup in Bloomington.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 10/20/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. DraftKings DFS Quarterbacks

Jordan Ta'amu - QB, vs Auburn ($8,700)

Ta'amu is coming off back to back dominant performances - more than 650 yards total, five touchdowns to just one interception - and we are somehow getting a discount on his price despite this beautiful matchup. Ta'amu is someone who grabs my attention even independent of the matchup, as this Ole Miss squad is not only committed to the air attack, but they are loaded with what is perhaps the most talented wide receiver corps in the SEC. He throws at high volume - 35+ pass attempts in three of his last four starts - and does so with incredible efficiency, as he's connected 65.8% of his passes this season. This matchup gets me excited as well, as Vegas is projecting this one to be a shootout (over/under of 63.5) and a tight contest (Auburn favored by 4).

Also Consider: Jarrett Stidham - QB, at Ole Miss ($6,000)

DraftKings DFS Running Backs

Myles Gaskin - RB, vs Colorado ($6,400)

Gaskin's injury last week (and subpar performance due to injury) has given us a discount on his price this week. Gaskin is an incredible back, one capable of crushing value when he's at full speed. While I don't have confirmation yet that Gaskin is good to go, he has been practicing since Wednesday and the Huskies coaching staff expects him to start. The projected scores, over/under and spread create a strong game script for using a running back of Gaskin's caliber (and price) in cash game situations this week.

Miles Sanders - RB, at Indiana ($7,100)

Speaking of good game scripts that favor running backs, Sanders is in a good spot this weekend against Indiana. The Nittany Lions are favored by 14.5 points in a game projected for roughly 60 points this Saturday. Not only is this Indiana defense hurting from having lost so many of their front seven from last season, but Sanders' play has been on the rise. He's carried the ball 16+ times in each of his last three starts, and has twice eclipsed 160 yards in that stretch of games.

Also Consider: Travis Etienne - RB, vs NC State ($9,400)

DraftKings DFS Wide Receivers

Damonte Coxie - WR, at Mizzou ($5,600)

I liked a lot of the things I saw in the gameplan for Moxie last weekend against UCF, and I think he can build on it this week in a really good matchup against a porous Mizzou defense. Coxie finished the contest with four catches for 86 yards, but was targeted 11 times in an air attack that was definitely hampered by the rain. Darrell Henderson will always be the focal point of this Memphis offense - and for good reason, I might add - but Coxie is a playmaker they're looking to get the ball in space. He is a deep threat, and one they look to get the ball to on receiver and tunnel screens. Since he hasn't had that breakout performance yet, we get him at a steal of a price, but the targets and air yards indicate a breakout could be just around the corner. In a game that is projected for a ton of points with Memphis as the underdog, this is a good game script for him to see some bombs down the field.

Steven Sims, Jr. - WR, at Texas Tech ($5,400)

The shaky quarterback situation at Kansas takes Sims out of cash consideration for me this week, but I have a lot of interest in him as a tournament guy who could potentially provide an enormous return on investment on his modest price tag. The senior's game logs show some inconsistency, but they also include a few 10+ catch games (dating back to last season) and the potential for a monster performance (he eclipsed 230 yards in a game in 2017). He's a strong route runner and a burner with a 4.4 forty time, which opens up the potential for deep connections downfield. Additionally, my interest is piqued by the likely pass heavy game script (the total is nearing 60 points, but the Jayhawks are 19 point favorites) and the fact that this Texas Tech club is horrendous defensively (which is nothing new).

Also Consider: Marquise Brown - WR, at TCU ($8,400); Jerry Jeudy - WR, at Tennessee ($8,100)
