DraftKings and FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (3/24/23): NBA DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on March 24, 2023. Dan Palyo provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

It's a war of attrition in the NBA this time of year. Teams are missing players due to injury or are resting star players down the stretch. This is officially the "Silly Season" of the NBA schedule as in the final few weeks things always tend to get a little bit weird. Players you haven't heard of might play 40 minutes and end up being slate-winning plays. And we are taking some educated guesses as to how badly each team wants to win these games. If you are up for the challenge, there are always angles to be played and money to be made!

With both FanDuel and DraftKings having multi-position eligibility players, we'll have to attack slates accordingly to make our lineups as optimal as possible. That's where I come in! I'll look to find my personal top plays and values for tonight's slate. Things can change during the day as well, so I'll do my best to update as news comes out!

Here are my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on 3/24/23. Keep an eye on RotoBaller’s NBA injury news and also our full NBA injury report today to stay up to date before lineups are locked.

DraftKings and FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Devin Booker @ SAC (FD: $10100, DK: $9600)

Booker is the top option for Phoenix these days with Kevin Durant out until the playoffs and Deandre Ayton nursing an injury this entire week. Chris Paul is still a pass-first point guard and therefore Booker is soaking up most of the shots in this offense surrounded by a bunch of low-usage players.

Booker has tormented the Kings this season, averaging 34.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 4.0 steals! This should be a close game and probably a pretty high-scoring affair with a total pushing up toward 240 points. I'm likely investing a lot of my salary cap in guards today and going with some value at the other positions, so I don't mind spending up on Booker at these prices.

Fred VanVleet vs. DET (FD: $8900, DK: $8700)

FVV has been unstoppable recently and has been forced into a higher-usage role with the Raptors missing a few of their regulars, too. The scoring has been impressive, but he's also been dropping dimes left and right and has 11 assists in both of his last two games this season.

Detroit is an absolute dumpster fire right now and a great team to target with opposing players, both guards and big men. In his only meeting with Detroit back in February, FVV dropped 35-3-8 on the Pistons while hitting 6-13 long balls. He feels underpriced here based on just how good he's been over the last two weeks. The floor is high and the ceiling is there, too, if the Raptors fail to blow out the Pistons and let them hang around (which I think is likely).

Monte Morris vs. SAS (FD: $5300, DK: $4900)

Morris is not an exciting play, but with Beal and Kuzma out yet again for Washington, he should continue to see an increased role on offense and we simply can't ignore the shorthanded Wizards in this spot against the tanking Spurs today. San Antonio gives up a ton of points to opponents and especially point guards and centers. Morris is what I would call a safe cash play at this price and I would expect his ownership to be pretty high based on how he was chalk on Wednesday's slate, too.

Also consider: Austin Reaves, Kris Dunn, Shaedon Sharpe

DraftKings and FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

P.J. Washington @ DAL (FD: $6400, DK: $5900)

The Hornets are going to be extremely short-handed tonight on a B2B in Dallas after getting thumped last night by the Pelicans and losing Kelly Oubre Jr, Terry Rozier, and Dennis Smith Jr. to injuries. It's looking very doubtful that any of those guys suit up tonight, so we should see Gordon Hayward playing some point guard and Washington getting a ton of looks in this offense.

He didn't put up big numbers last night, but he certainly put up a ton of shots (20) with 10 of those being from downtown. Dallas has not been good against the PF or C position this year as they often play small, so P.J. could take advantage of this matchup if he doesn't simply settle for outside shots. He's not the safest of plays due to his volatility, but the upside is certainly there with the massive usage bump that he's going to see tonight.

Deni Avdija vs. SAS (FD: $6000, DK: $5900)

THIS IS MY GUY! If you have been reading any of my waiver wire columns this year, I have a thing for Deni and I don't hide it. He's an uber-talented young player who can do a little of everything and often does when he gets a chance. He should have that opportunity tonight as he's likely to start for Washington again since Beal and Kuzma both remain out.

He's still underpriced a bit based on his situation and the elite matchup against the Spurs, so I don't mind him for cash games or tournaments. The offense is going to flow through him and Porzingis most of the time and he should be able to clean the glass (as he has been) against a Spurs team that is weak on the interior. Fire him up in all formats, he's a lock for 30+ DK points tonight.

Svi Mykhailiuk @ DAL (FD: $3800, DK: $3000)

Here is the guy who is probably the chalk du jour. Svi is a journeyman shooter who has bounced around a lot but always manages to find his way onto the court with someone because he can shoot the pill. He played 30 minutes for Charlotte last night after Oubre and Rozier both exited early, taking 12 shots (3-8 from behind the arc) and finishing with 15 points. He doesn't have to hit too many shots to make value here, I'd just lock him in at SG (on FanDuel) and SF (on DraftKings) and move right along.

Also consider: Kristaps Porzingis, Gordon Hayward, Simone Fontecchio

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Nick Richards @ DAL (FD: $5700, DK: $5100)

Richards had another big day on the glass last night, pulling down 14 boards after grabbing 17 against the Pacers a few nights before that. With Mark Williams continuing to miss games, Richards has been locked into 25-30 minutes as the starting center for Charlotte and has had a really solid recent run of production. He just signed a contract extension, so clearly the Hornets like what he's doing and see him as part of their future. As I said earlier in Washington's blurb, Dallas can be had on the glass and Richards should have a size advantage against the smaller Dallas frontcourt.

Sandro Mamukelashvili @ WAS (FD: $5600, DK: $4800)

Zach Collins is questionable and even if he does play, I am going to have some exposure to the man we know only as "Mamu." He's playing really well lately as he's soaked up all the minutes that had been going to Charles Bassey before his injury. He's a skilled big man who can shoot from long range and pass the ball well, which makes him a nice fit here behind Collins who also does the same things well. I like that he has PF eligibility on FanDuel, though his price there is also $800 more bucks. Keep an eye on Collins' status today and if he does sit, then Mamu will be an easy punt play, especially at his DK price.

Also consider: Anthony Davis, Jakob Poeltl, Walker Kessler, and Bismack Biyombo
