DraftKings and FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (01/27/22): NBA DFS Lineups

Giannis Antetokounmpo - NBA DFS Picks, Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineups

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on January 27th, 2022. John Brubaker provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

Happy Friday, RotoBallers! I hope you all had an excellent week to this point, and a great weekend is forthcoming! We have a smaller NBA slate tonight than usual on a Friday. Usually, the Thursday night slate is a small one and the Friday night slate is a big one, but the slates have been more evened out this week than usual. With a smaller slate we have to approach things a bit differently, so let's take a look!

Tonight, we have ourselves a five-game slate on this lovely Friday. With both FanDuel and DraftKings having multi-position eligibility players, we'll have to attack slates accordingly to make our lineups as optimal as possible. That's where I come in! I'll look to find my personal top plays and values for tonight's slate. Things can also change during the day, so I'll do my best to update you as news comes out!

Without further adieu, here is my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on 1/27/22. Keep an eye on RotoBaller’s NBA injury news and also our full NBA injury report today to stay up to date before lineups are locked.

DraftKings and FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Jrue Holiday, at IND (FD: $8,300, DK: $8,500)

I'll start tonight's slate off with Jrue Holiday. I'll primarily be attacking two games in tonight's slate, the Bucks/Pacers game and the Grizzlies/Timberwolves game. Holiday has been a solid performer for Milwaukee this season, as per usual, averaging 19.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 7.3 assists on the year. He should, as well as the other Bucks players, get a boost given that both Serge Ibaka and Bobby Portis are out of this one, and my model projects him to a 27.13% usage rate across 33.5 minutes.

FanDuel Projection: 40.91
DraftKings Projection: 42.89

D'Angelo Russell, vs MEM (FD: $7,000, DK: $6,700)

I'll take a look at D'Angelo Russell next. Russell has been on a heater, averaging 24.25 points, two rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 1.75 steals per game over his last four contests. He along with Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert will continue to see usage increases as Jordan McLaughlin, Taurean Prince, and Karl-Anthony Towns remain out. My model projects Russell for a 22.63% usage rate across 36 minutes of action.

FanDuel Projection: 39.26
DraftKings Projection: 42.21

Kyle Lowry, at ORL (FD: $5,900, DK: $4,700)

I'll finish things up at the guard position with Kyle Lowry. I'll chalk this up as more of a DraftKings-specific play due to the shocking price difference. Lowry's minutes have been up and down this season, but he does project to play just around 30 minutes in this showdown with the Magic, and projects to a 17.35% usage rate while doing so. I'll look for him to take advantage of the matchup with Orlando, who ranks 19th in point guard efficiency.

FanDuel Projection: 25.56
DraftKings Projection: 27.45

Also consider: Ja Morant (FD: $10,200, DK: $10,000), Cole Anthony (FD: $5,700, DK: $4,500)

DraftKings and FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Giannis Antetokounmpo, at IND (FD: $11,500, DK: $11,500)

I'll start things off with the forwards back in the Bucks/Pacers game. Giannis gets a massive boost with the two bigs (Portis, and Ibaka) sitting out of tonight's matchup with the Pacers. He's north of a 1.6 fantasy point-per-minute guy on both sites in this situation and projects to a massive 37.64% usage rate across 34 minutes tonight. The matchup is terrific as well considering that Indiana ranks 27th in power forward efficiency.

FanDuel Projection: 54.64
DraftKings Projection: 57.93

Jaren Jackson Jr., vs MIN (FD: $7,800, DK: $6,600)

I'll head over to that Grizzlies/TWolves game again, taking a look at Jaren Jackson Jr. I mentioned in my starting lineup changes article, and it's not a shock to anyone, that the biggest downside of JJJ's game is that he struggles to stay on the floor due to foul trouble. However, he's an excellent player when he gets the minutes, and tonight should be no different. This is especially true when you consider that the Grizzlies will be without Steven Adams for some time. Jackson Jr. projects to a 21.57% usage rate across 28 minutes and is always viable to rack up the peripheral stats on FanDuel, though I do prefer him on DraftKings due to the price difference.

FanDuel Projection: 35.69
DraftKings Projection: 34.93

Pat Connaughton, vs IND (FD: $5,300, DK: $4,100)

I'll finish things up to take a look at Pat Connaughton. Connaughton is another beneficiary of both Serge Ibaka and Bobby Portis being out for Milwaukee tonight. While Connaughton averages 8.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game, he's coming off a massive showing against Denver where he logged a 19-point, 12-rebound double-double across 38 minutes. My model projects Connaughton to a 13.62% usage rate across 26 minutes tonight. He's another guy who's a standout on DraftKings due to the price difference.

FanDuel Projection: 22,59
DraftKings Projection: 24.8

Also consider: Anthony Edwards (FD: $9,200, DK: $9,000), Evan Mobley (FD: $7,300, DK: $6,600)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Myles Turner, vs MIL (FD: $8,000, DK: $7,100)

I'll wrap things up on the other side of the Bucks/Pacers matchup with Myles Turner. Turner has been a model favorite this year, and for good reason, as he's playing extremely well for Indiana. He's averaging 17.4 points, eight rebounds, and 1.4 assists on the campaign, but has scored at least 22 points in each of his last two games and has logged two double-doubles in his last four games. He projects to a 21.98% usage rate across 32 minutes tonight and should dominate the paint against Brook Lopez.

FanDuel Projection: 44.45
DraftKings Projection: 45

Also consider: Brook Lopez (FD: $4,000, DK: $5,800)
