DraftKings and FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (11/5/22): MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 11/5/22. Mike Marteny's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

And then there were two. We have made it to the pinnacle of a baseball season that some thought may never happen. It has been a wild season and now it's the Phillies and Astros for the World Series title. The Astros took two in Philly and can now clinch at home in Game 6.

For showdown mode on DraftKings, we pick one captain who costs 1.5x his normal salary, but he also scores 1.5x the points. We must have at least one player from each team and relievers are fair game if you think you have a bead on which relievers will be used. On FanDuel, the format is a bit different. No player salaries are multiplied, but you get one MVP who scores double points and one start that scores 1.5x points along with three utility slots. Oh...and it's only hitters.

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 11/5/22. The lineup will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. It’s also important to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. If you have any questions or comments, contact me on Twitter.

MLB DFS Captain Options

Framber Valdez ($17,100)

Framber dominated the Phils over five innings in his last regular season start, allowing just two hits while striking out ten. TEN! He followed that up with nine more strikeouts in 6.1 innings against the Phillies in Game 2 to even the series at the time. Framber has been excellent all season long and in the playoffs as well. It would only be fitting if he clinched for the Astros as well. If I'm using a pitcher, it will be Framber.

Alex Bregman ($13,200 DK; $7,500 FD)

Bregman helped break the game open against Wheeler in Game 2 with a two-run homer. Since then, both of Bregman's hits have been doubles, he has driven in a couple more runs, and he even stole a base. He is certainly in the running for World Series MVP right now and he comes at a nice discount from other bats on this slate.

Star/MVP options: Bryce Harper ($9,000), Jose Altuve ($8,500)

DraftKings/FanDuel DFS Utility Options

Along with the others I consider for the captain slot, these can be good utility plays as well.

Bryce Harper ($9,800 DK; $9,000 FD)

Harper's hitting streak in the playoffs ended in Game 2, but he has been on base five times in the three games since. The Astros haven't given him a lot to hit, but Harper still slammed a homer in Game 3. He had 34 DraftKings points in the three games in Philly. He is still well worth the price whether the Phillies win or not.

Jose Altuve ($8,600 DK; $8,500 FD)

Altuve had three hits in Game 2, two of which were off of Wheeler. He has three hits since then, including a big Game 5 when he reached base three times and scored twice. Altuve is a better deal on DK since he hasn't shown any power – he hasn't hit a homer since his two-homer game against Arizona on September 27. However, he's getting on base a lot, which is valuable in showdowns.

Alec Bohm ($7,400 DK, $6,000 FD)

Bohm has picked it up in the World Series. He has five hits in five games with a homer, three RBI, two runs scored, and two walks. He and Harper have been the only bright spots for the Phillies lately. If the Phils are going to force a Game 7, these two will be the reason why.

Other Options: Kyle Schwarber ($9,200 DK; $7,500 FD); Jeremy Pena ($8,400 DK; $6,500 FD); Rhys Hoskins ($8,000 DK, $7,000 FD)
