Double Gameweek 32 Preview - Fantasy Premier League 2024-25 Tips and Captaincy Picks

Gameweek Tips - Fantasy Premier League, Soccer

This article provides a preview of what Gameweek 32 has in store for fantasy managers, including top captain selections and strong picks for the weekly FPL Challenge game.

Wolves secured its third consecutive victory in Gameweek 31, now winning five games in its last eight matches, while Leicester continued to struggle, as the Foxes were defeated 3-0 by Newcastle at the King Power Stadium. We're only a few hours till Gameweek 32 begins. Prepare your fantasy teams as we highlight the best fantasy tips each week.

This week marks the finale of the 7-a-side series FPL Challenge, tagged the "All-Rounder," where managers can select a team of seven players while sticking to a 2-2-2 formation. As always, we’ll offer weekly breakdowns of the must-haves to target and help you maximize your point potential.

The Gameweek 32 deadline for the 2024-25 Fantasy Premier League season is Saturday, April 12, at 7:30 a.m. EDT. Also, check out the rest of our excellent soccer coverage as the squad gets you all set for every EPL and UCL slate with our EPL DFS lineup picks and betting picks.

Double Gameweek 32 FPL Tips

Target Newcastle and Brighton Assets

In the wake of the UCL quarterfinals' first-leg results, the top five teams in the Premier League will have the opportunity to play in the Champions League next season. The fight for the rest of the season therefore rests on finishing in the top five.

Newcastle currently sits in fifth place and has the opportunity to improve its European qualification by defeating its next opponents, Manchester United and Crystal Palace, in consecutive home matches in this double gameweek.

Matchday 32 presents an excellent opportunity to triple up on Newcastle assets.

Scoring only one goal and conceding 24 goals in its last 10 games, Leicester will have a difficult assignment traveling to face Brighton by the weekend. The Seagulls are without a win in their three matches, and this matchup would be the ideal opportunity for Brighton to get back to winning ways against the Foxes.

With this in mind, FPL managers are advised to prioritize selecting assets from Newcastle or Brighton for Gameweek 32.

According to goal projections, Newcastle and Brighton are expected to produce a 2.00 xG and 2.45 xG (expected goals) against their respective opponents this week. For the second Newcastle fixture, the Geordies are projected to produce 1.85 xG against Crystal Palace.

Recommended FPL assets for attacking returns:

  • Newcastle: Alexander Isak, Jacob Murphy, and Tino Livramento
  • Brighton: Danny Welbeck, Yankuba Minteh, and Pervis Estupiñán

Double Gameweek 32 Top Captain Picks

The midweek fixtures present a list of fascinating options for your captaincy choice. Players like Omar Marmoush against Crystal Palace, Leandro Trossard against Brentford, and Cole Palmer against Ipswich present strong cases. However, our top two captain picks this week are:

Alexander Isak (£9.5m) - Newcastle

Isak rises to the top of our captaincy options this week, with Newcastle hosting back-to-back home games in Gameweek 32. Newcastle has scored 11 goals in its past five home matches, with Isak scoring five times at St. James' Park.

The Swedish international has made 25 goal contributions for the Geordies, averaging a 0.67 xG (expected goals) per 90 minutes this season, and is a solid option for captaincy and a top contender for the Triple Captain chip.

Mohamed Salah (£13.8) - Liverpool

Mohamed Salah, who leads the FPL with 311 points and averages 10.0 points per match, returns to the captaincy favorites this week, thanks to his goal record against his next opponents, West Ham.

Salah has scored 13 goals in his last 17 encounters against the Hammers. Although the Egyptian king has been rather quiet in recent games, he will be eager to get his name on the score sheet when Liverpool hosts West Ham at the Anfield stadium this weekend.

FPL Challenge: 7-A-Side Series

The FPL Challenge section for the 2024-25 season is back, and RotoBaller remains your go-to source for valuable insights on selecting the right assets for any challenge.

The 31st challenge in the 7-a-side series, tagged "Park The Bus," focused on selecting a team of seven players but was limited to goalkeepers and defenders. This week's challenge brings the event to a close.

In case you missed it, here is a recap of the 7-a-side FPL Challenge series:

The 7-A-Side event is a four-gameweek run that highlights the top performers in each position while picking at least seven players. This series covers four tests focusing on earning points through different players and play styles.

  • Gameweek 29: 7-A-Side - Unlimited budget, 7-a-side.
  • Gameweek 30: Fortified Front - Only midfielders and strikers are allowed.
  • Gameweek 31: Park The Bus - Only goalkeepers and defenders are allowed.
  • Gameweek 32: All-Rounder - Must use the formation 2-2-2.

7-A-Side FPL Challenge: All-Rounder - Players to Target

Week 32 of the FPL Challenge involves selecting a team of seven players with an unlimited budget. However, this week's task only allows fantasy managers in a 2-2-2 formation.

RotoBaller's top picks for this week's challenge are:

  • In goal, Chelsea's Robert Sanchez is our top goalkeeper to bank on for clean sheets and potential save points. The Spanish international has kept three clean sheets in his last four matches and is a favorite to do the same against Ipswich this weekend.
  • In defense, Tino Livramento and Daniel Muñoz are two defenders who are solid defensive assets to bank on for this week's task.
  • In midfield, Jacob Murphy and Mohamed Salah are our top midfield options.
  • A duo of Alexander Isak and Jean-Philippe Mateta completes the attack, and Isak takes the spotlight as our captain of the week, rounding off our lineup in a 2-2-2 formation.

Remember, you are free to select any other top FPL Challenge alternatives not mentioned above. Best of luck to everyone participating in this week's challenge!
