Frank Ammirante analyzes which defenses (DEF) to sit or start in Week 14 (2025) of the NFL season, and provides his best fantasy football streaming options.
One of the best ways to improve your team for the fantasy playoffs is to look ahead at defense/special teams (DST) streamers for upcoming weeks. These options are usually available on the waiver wire, since your league mates are focused on the current week rather than looking ahead.
On this page, we'll break down some of my favorite DST streamers for Week 14. You can also check out our favorite Week 13 defense streamers and tiered rankings.
These picks are based on point spread, implied totals, and fantasy production. I'll focus on DSTs that are rostered in fewer than 50% of Yahoo! formats.

Best D/ST Streaming Options For Week 14
Kansas City Chiefs vs Houston Texans (43% Rostered)
The Chiefs are averaging only 5.7 fantasy points per game, which ranks as DST20 on the season. However, entering Week 13 action, Kansas City is giving up 18.3 points per game (fifth) and 301.2 yards per game (fifth).
We just saw the Chiefs slow down the Colts, who have been one of the best offenses in the league this year, limiting Daniel Jones and company to only 20 points. While that didn't include any turnovers or sacks, it highlights how this group is better in real life than what we've seen in fantasy so far.
When you're streaming a defense, you're aiming for 10+ fantasy points, which is something the Chiefs have done in three games this year. Up next is a matchup against the Texans, where Kansas City is in a good position to do so once again.
Whether it's Davis Mills or C.J. Stroud under center, this is an underwhelming offense with a vulnerable offensive line. We saw the Titans sack Mills four times back in Week 11. Don't be surprised if something similar happens against Chris Jones and company. The interior pass rusher was dominant against the Colts last week, which led to defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo talking up his performance.
Steve Spagnuolo on Chris Jones’ influence in Sunday’s win over the Colts:
“I’ve noticed that he’s been practicing at a high level. Just appears to be different to me in the last two weeks, and I think it’s showing up on the field.” pic.twitter.com/ubYJ0l3WaX

It feels like the Chiefs' DST is rounding into form, riding high off a strong game against the Colts. We can expect the Chiefs to be around six-point favorites at home against the Texans. It's best to target favorites with DST streamers because they're projected to play with a lead, which bodes well for potential sacks and turnovers.
With that in mind, let's ride with Kansas City as the top DST pick for Week 14.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints (24% Rostered)
The Buccaneers are putting up only 6.6 fantasy points per game, which ranks 14th among DSTs. This group has struggled in fantasy in the last three weeks, registering 0, 2, and 2 points. However, we can chalk that up to tough matchups against the Rams, Bills, and Patriots.
Up next is a much better spot against an inconsistent rookie quarterback in Tyler Shough. The first-year player just struggled mightily against the Falcons in Week 12, getting sacked five times with one interception and one lost fumble.
With that in mind, this looks like an ideal get-right spot for the Bucs defense. We've seen them show a high ceiling this year. In fact, when the Bucs faced the Saints back in Week 8, they put up 26 fantasy points. That was a game where Tampa won 23-3, racking up five sacks and forcing four turnovers, one of which went for a touchdown.
Given the Bucs' recent struggles, they should be widely available in your fantasy league. Don't miss out on the opportunity to pick them up for this plus matchup.
This could be a game where YaYa Diaby makes a major impact. Diaby leads the team with five sacks this season.

Expect Tampa to be at least nine-point favorites in a great matchup against one of the worst teams in the NFL. It wouldn't surprise me to see this one turn into a blowout, just like the last meeting. That means more opportunities for sacks and turnovers, which is what we're looking for.
Miami Dolphins at New York Jets (9% Rostered)
The Dolphins are averaging only 5.3 fantasy points per game, which ranks as DST24 this season. However, this group has shown signs of life heading into Week 13, racking up 9 and 13 points in their last two games.
In each of those matchups, Miami held its opponents to 13 points. One of those games was against Josh Allen and the Bills, making it even more impressive.
This group was also a headliner in Week 12 against the Saints, but they're still widely available, giving you a chance to capitalize on a second consecutive good matchup against the Jets.
New York's offense has been an absolute disaster this season, showing no semblance of a passing game, even in the switch from Justin Fields to Tyrod Taylor.
Edge rusher Bradley Chubb is starting to come on strong, racking up a sack against the Bills. This team has now given up 13 points or fewer in three of its last four games. Don't be surprised if we see something similar against the Jets.

While betting odds aren't released yet, this feels like a game where the Dolphins are about three-point road favorites with a game total below 40 points. It's exactly the type of game environment you want to target when looking for a DST streamer.
Tennessee Titans at Cleveland Browns (3% Rostered)
The Titans are averaging 6.0 fantasy points per game, which ranks as DST18 on the season. However, we've seen this group show a high ceiling at times, including 20 points against the Chargers in Week 9.
That was a game where they sacked Justin Herbert six times, while also getting a pick-six and returning a punt for a touchdown. Chimere Dike is an elite returner, so you always have the chance of a special teams touchdown when you fire up this group.
We've seen the Titans rack up at least three sacks in four of their last five games. Jeffery Simmons is a disruptive force on the interior. Just check out where he ranks in the graph below.

You have to be intrigued by the Titans' Week 14 matchup against the Browns. While Shedeur Sanders showed some improvement over Dillon Gabriel, this is still a Day 3 rookie quarterback who could be sacked quite often in this matchup.
Expect this game to have a total below 40 points, which is the right type of game environment to target when streaming a DST.
The Titans are widely available across all formats, making them worth a look if you have room on your roster right now.
