Nicklaus Gaut profiles Los Angeles infielder David Fletcher as a waiver wire pickup or add target for Week 10 of the 2019 fantasy baseball season due to his positional flexibility and strong season-long numbers.

ANALYSIS: Coming into 2019, David Fletcher was only on the radar in the deepest of leagues. With a high-contact, low-power profile, Fletcher produced little of consequence in 2018; posting a triple-slash of .275/.316/.363 with an .088 ISO and a.297 wOBA that produced just 25 RBI and one entire HR over the course of 80 games. But Fletcher started off this year much more fantasy-friendly, hitting a brisk .307 in April, as well as scoring 13 runs. He had also seemingly made strides on the power front, with a .325 wOBA and .102 ISO. Throw in 10 RBI, two SB and multi-position eligibility, and Fletcher had started picking up more fantasy relevance.
In May, Fletcher upped the power and production ante even more; hitting three home runs, with 11 RBI while scoring 15 runs. While his average and on-base-percentage did see increases of 10 and 26 points respectively, the largest gains were in his power numbers, with his ISO in May jumping up to .154, as well as a .364 wOBA and a wRC+ of 132.
Almost a third of the way into the season, Fletcher has now appeared in 55 of the Angels 58 games - and on the year has put up numbers that no longer resemble the weak-hitting infielder of 2018. His .449 SLG is almost 90 points higher, his wOBA is over 50 points higher, and his ISO is up almost 50 points - all while keeping his league-low 6.3% k-rate intact. Over a full-season, Fletcher is on pace for a .316 AVG with 12HRs, 87Rs, 61 RBI, and 15 SB, along with being eligible at every position except catcher. Now is the perfect time to pick up the super-utility Angel, as the right-handed Fletcher will face four left-handers during the upcoming week.
