Daily Fantasy Hockey Lineup Picks: FanDuel & DraftKings NHL DFS Advice for 10/23/15

Welcome to the Daily Fantasy Hockey (NHL DFS) lineup picks article for October 23rd of the 2015 NHL season. Each Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, I'll be providing you with five picks (G, C, W, W, D) for FanDuel and DraftKings GPP and cash games.

Cheat Sheet Update For 10/22: Two new advanced stats have been added!

  1. "Shots attempted per 60 minutes" reflects a players shots on net + shots that missed net + shots that were blocked. It's a key stat to show how much a player possesses the puck generally, and is a predictive indicator for the number of shots a player will get on net.
  2. "Points per 60 minutes" reflects a players point production per 60 minutes of ice time. This is a great indicator of how productive a player is in their ice time.  If a player has a high Points/60, and they get moved up to a top line, they'll represent a key sleeper play in the we

NHL DFS Picks for for Tuesday, October 23nd

Friday night in the NHL is a little quieter with only six games. The Capitals and Kings are playing in back to back nights and the Capitals will be playing a 3rd game in four nights. As we get deeper into the season now we will start to see some backup goaltenders getting their turn as the starters will start getting more rest. This will give us some nice spots to grab some goaltender value for daily fantasy. Tonight will be one of those nights.

Mike Condon - Goaltender, Canadiens (DraftKings - $7,200 FanDuel - $7,800)

Carey Price gets the night off and Condon will make his second start of the season Friday night on the road in Buffalo. Makes  a nice value on both sites especially on FanDuel where he is the 13th most expensive option.

John Tavares - Center, Islanders (DraftKings - $8,200 FanDuel - $9,200)

If you are saving at goaltender you can pay up for the top option in Tavares tonight. He is an elite talent in a great matchup. The Islanders are ranked 3rd in the league in goals per game while the Bruins are ranked 29th in the league in goals allowed per game. Look for a high scoring game where Tavares gets heavily involved.

 Max Pacioretty - Winger, Canadiens (DraftKings - $7,600 FanDuel - $8,200)

A top wing option for Friday in a nice matchup on the road in Buffalo. He is averaging over 20 shot attempts per game and is getting around 3:30 on the powerplay. Great floor to go with high upside Friday night.

T.J. Oshie - Winger, Capitals (DraftKings - $5,700 FanDuel - $6,000)

Nice value that won't break the bank and plays top line with Ovechkin. Playing around 20:00 a game and over 3:00 of that on the leagues 2nd ranked powerplay. Safe in all formats.

Justin Faulk - Defense, Hurricanes (DraftKings - $5,400 FanDuel - $5,700)

Has been extremely consistent for fantasy so far this season averaging 4.3 DK and 3.5 FD points per game. He gets heavy minutes on the powerplay and when the opportunities start going in the net his upside will be very high.
