Welcome to the Daily Fantasy Hockey (NHL DFS) lineup picks article for October 22nd of the 2015 NHL season. Each Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, I'll be providing you with five picks (G, C, W, W, D) for FanDuel and DraftKings GPP and cash games.

Cheat Sheet Update For 10/22: Two new advanced stats have been added!

  1. "Shots attempted per 60 minutes" reflects a players shots on net + shots that missed net + shots that were blocked. It's a key stat to show how much a player possesses the puck generally, and is a predictive indicator for the number of shots a player will get on net.
  2. "Points per 60 minutes" reflects a players point production per 60 minutes of ice time. This is a great indicator of how productive a player is in their ice time.  If a player has a high Points/60, and they get moved up to a top line, they'll represent a key sleeper play in the we

NHL DFS Picks for for Tuesday, October 22nd

Thursday night in the NHL brings us eight games to pick our players from. There are no teams on back to back tonight so everyone should be well rested. As we progress further into the season we are going to see the stats in most categories even out. This will give us a more consistent analysis into players and teams.

Henrik Lundqvist- Goaltender, Rangers (DraftKings - $7,800 FanDuel - $9,200)

The Rangers are the biggest favorites on the board Thursday and they have one of the games elite goaltenders. Third most expensive option on both sites and comes with a nice floor as Rangers are giving up over 30 shots a game and Lundqvist owns a .931 save percentage.

Niklas Backstrom - Center, Capitals (DraftKings - $6,500 FanDuel - $6,200)

Finally listed on DraftKings and a nice bargain on both sites. In his first two games he has five points on only 16:44 ice time per game. That ice time will definitely climb up close to the 19:00 mark and so will his upside. Zach

 Zach Parise - Winger, Wild (DraftKings - $7,900 FanDuel - $8,700)

Grea option in any format on Thursday as the Wild are at home to the leagues worst defensive team. The Blue Jackets have given up close to five goals a game and Parise is averaging 4.6 points per 60 minutes of ice time to start the year.

James Neal - Winger, Predators (DraftKings - $6,000 FanDuel - $6,400)

He has scored five goals in his last three games and is attempting over 20 shots a game. His price has not climbed very much since the start of the season and until it does he presents nice value in any format. It will be a tough matchup vs the Ducks but with the high amount of shots attempted his floor will remain high no matter the matchup.

Ryan Suter - Defense, Wild (DraftKings - $4,900 FanDuel - $4,300)

He is averaging around 25:00 a game with 3:26 per game of that on the powerplay. The Wild are at home Thursday in a great matchup vs the Blue Jackets and should have plenty of opportunities for fantasy points. He is safe in all formats at a salary below $5,000 on both sites.
