NHL DFS Picks for for Thursday October 15th

Thursday gives us 8 games to choose from. Most of the top goaltenders will be starting and there are some real nice matchups shaping up tonight. Arizona, Chicago and Ottawa are all playing on back to back nights and Florida and Tampa Bay are playing their 3rd games in four nights. These can be matchups we can exploit in the right situation if say a team is playing on the road back to back or three games in four nights.

In daily fantasy hockey it is usually best, on most nights, to pay up for the best goaltender who is in a favorable spot to pick up a win. We can use Vegas data to project game flow and help choose the best option. After goaltender, it is best to find a few value options who are playing up a line and/or getting more ice time. By finding a few values it allows you to pay up for some star players who can fill the score sheet on a nightly basis.

Carey Price - Goaltender, Canadiens (DraftKings - $8,400   FanDuel - $9,800)

Montreal has started the year off strong and their team is based around their superstars goaltender. So far this year Price has a .945 Save % to go along with his three wins. He is playing at home against in a game projected to stay under the total.

Steven Stamkos - Center, Lightning (DraftKings - $7,300   FanDuel - $8,500)

He comes in at a discount from Crosby, Tavares, and Seguin(DK) and carries the same, if not more, upside. He is in a nice spot Thursday at home vs. the Stars as one of the biggest favorites on the board. He gets top even strength and power pay ice time giving him plenty of opportunity for fantasy points. He hasn't fired it up completely yet taking only 2 shots on average per game so far. Look for that to change real soon.

Patrick Kane - Winger, Blackhawks (DraftKings - $7,600   FanDuel - $8,400)

He seems to have put all the off season allegations behind him as e has started the season on fire. He has six points in three games and playing nearly 20:00 a game. He shoots a ton which gives him a nice floor and he has multi point upside almost every night.

Max Pacioretty -  Winger, Canadiens (DraftKings - $7,600   FanDuel - $8,200)

The Canadiens offense is ticking to start the year and most of the offense is coming from their top line. Pacioretty is averaging over four shots a game and getting over 3:00 of PP time. The shot attempts give him a nice floor for cash games if the game stays below the projected total.

Kris Letang - Defense, Penguins (DraftKings - $6,100   FanDuel - $6,100)

The Pens offense hasn't started clicking just yet but look to be in a nice spot Thursday night vs. the Senators. Letang is their top defenseman, both even strength and powerplay. he takes a ton of shots and plays a big role in the offense. If you are paying up for defense is one of the top choices.

Roman Josi - Defense, Predators (DraftKings - $6,100   FanDuel - $6,100)

Another top choice at the defense position Thursday night. He is playing on Nashville's top defensive pairing with Shea Weber and also logs top minutes on the powerplay. He has started the season with two goals on 10 shots and paying off his salary across the industry.
