Daily Fantasy Hockey Lineup Picks (12/19/17): NHL DFS Advice for FanDuel, DraftKings

Tom Vecchio's top daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for 12/19/17. Expert NHL DFS advice, sleepers & player recommendations for FanDuel and DraftKings.

We have a big nine game slate tonight, and there are fantastic options all across the board. Stacking will be big tonight, so look for some value where you can, and then load up on the star skaters.

Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually 5.5 goals is average, so targets games at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 12/19/17. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

Vincent Trocheck - C, FLA @ ARI (DK - $7,200, FD - $6,700)

The Panthers often go overlooked on most full slate, but that won't be the case tonight. They are up against the Coyotes, who are one of the worst defensive teams in the league, giving up over three goals per game. Trocheck is on the second forward line and the first power-play unit, so he is good for cash games, but if you want to stack him up, go with the power-play unit, not the forward line. He has 33 points in 33 games this season, along with taking over three shots per game.

Mikael Granlund - W, MIN @ OTT (DK - $5,500, FD - $6,600

Granlund is up against the Senators tonight, who simply aren't a good team. They are struggling on offense and defense, and a good team to roster against, since they are giving up over three goals per game. He is on the first power-play unit and the first forward, so we know he is set for a good amount of ice time, which means plenty of chance to rack up points. He is taking about two shots per game, and seems a bit too cheap on DraftKings tonight, given the favorable match up.

DFS Defenders to Consider

John Klingberg - D, DAL vs WAS (DK - $5,500, FD - $5,600)

Klingberg is set to see a ton of minutes tonight, since he will be on the ice the counter the Washington Capitals top line. He is on the top defensive pairing and the top power-play unit, so plenty of chances to get some DFS points.  He is taking over two shots a game, along with blocking over one shot per game, so adding value in multiple categories. And if he adds one real hockey point, then he will be in a spot to crush value.

Shea Theodore - D, VGK vs TV (DK - $3,800, FD - $3,600)

Theodore is simply way too cheap on both sites given the role he has on the team. He is on the first defensive pairing and the first power-play unit, yet he is under $4K on both sites. Something simply does not add up there, and he is in a spot to see even more ice time tonight, since he will be going against the very dangerous Tampa Bay top line. Really like this spot for him, and he isn't expensive at all.

DFS Goalies to Consider

Henrik Lundqvist - G, NYR vs ANH (DK - $8,300, FD - $8,600)

Lundqvist has three wins in his last four games, and is up against the Ducks, who are on the second night of a back to back, but it should be noted that there was no travel, since they were in New Jersey last night. The Rangers are much better at home this season, and always have the chance to pick up the win. Lundqvist has 16 wins in 28 games this season, and only allowed two goals in each of his last three games.
