RotoBallers, welcome back to our daily fantasy hockey (NHL DFS) lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and FantasyAces. Below you will find our NHL cheat sheet - DFS lineup picks, sleepers and stacks for Thursday, November 17 of the 2016/2017 NHL season.
After a slow two game hump day slate the NHL is back with 10 games tonight. Just one team(ARI) is playing on a back to back and just one team(TB) is playing a third game in four nights. Teams should be rested and ready to provide us with fantasy points. Let's take a look at a few value plays for tonight.

NHL Daily League Lineup Picks for Thursday, November 17
Nic Petan (C, WPG)
DraftKings - $3,400, FanDuel - $3,800, FantasyAces - $4,100
The Jets are hurting up the middle due to injuries to Bryan Little and Mathieu Perrault. Petan is getting an opportunity to play a big role and hasn't disappointed. Through seven games he has recorded five points and has been playing nice minutes on the powerplay. He and the Jets offense gets a boost facing the leagues worst defensive team. Load up.
Patrick Eaves (W, DAL)
DraftKings - $5,200, FanDuel - $5,200, FantasyAces - $4,650
Eaves has been red hot lately with four goals and an assist over his previous three games but the salary continues to sit in the low $5K price range. Take advantage of the value as he is playing alongside Tyler Seguin on the top line and getting heavy powerplay usage.
Ivan Provorov (D, PHI)
DraftKings - $3,600, FanDuel - $3,800, FantasyAces - $2,900
Until his price reaches the next level, Provorov is a very safe cash game play with some upside for tournaments as well. He spent most of last year working on his all around game which has put his offense on hold in a way. The floor is excellent with Provorov as he continually gets blocks and shots and is playing steady minutes on the powerplay.
Stacking Option
Florida Panthers - Jaromir Jagr, Aleksander Barkov, Jonathan Marchessault
Look for the Panthers top offensive line to get rolling tonight in a favorable matchup vs. the Leafs who rank just behind the Flyers in defensive inefficiency(3.5 goals against per game). The price on all the players has come down making it very viable to get them mixed in with another top stack tonight.

Bonus: General NHL DFS Strategy Notes
For cash games, look at players who can contribute to your score even when they are not providing offense. Some examples are guys who take a ton of shots and defensemen who block a lot of shots. Also, look for guys who get power play time. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury, or just get a promotion and more ice time. It is also recommended to spread out your exposure to three or four different lines, and not put all your eggs in one basket.
For large field tournaments (GPPs), find payers who have multi-point upside and can grab double-digit fantasy points. If you want to stack the most upside in your forwards, a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone - try and look for a defenseman who will get power play time, or a playing time boost due to an injury. For a contrarian approach, paying up at the defense position can be a great strategy - but it also comes with more risk. GPPs bring a great opportunity for goaltenders in the value price range - you can look for backups on good teams.
