Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks (11/8/17): NBA DFS Advice for FanDuel, DraftKings

Tom Vecchio's top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for 11/8/17. Expert NBA DFS advice, sleepers & player recommendations for FanDuel and DraftKings.

We have a short five game slate to get us through this hump day. Not a ton of options at each spot, and there some price gaps between players, so you will have to get a bit creative with your roster construction. Still early in the season, but a few injuries going around, so be sure to check your sources on Twitter for updated info.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 11/08/17. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on DraftKings.

If you have any questions or comments, let me know @DFS_Tom on Twitter.

DFS Guards to Consider

Jeff Teague - PG, MIN @ GS (DK - $6,500, FD - $6,900)

Teague may be the flashiest point guard, but he brings plenty of fantasy production to the table. He has four double-doubles in his last five, and proves to have a very solid floor of points, which is great for cash games. The Timberwolves will be playing up in pace against the Warriors, so this is a spot where you want to target Teague. He has a 21% usage rate, and is averaging 0.99 fantasy points per minute. Solid for any format, since we are on a shorter slate.

Tim Hardaway Jr. - SG, NY @ ORL (DK - $6,100, FD - $6,000)

Hardaway has taken 45 three point attempts over his last five games. He is shooting damn near every time he touches the ball, and because of that, he has tremendous tournament upside. Obviously you can't expect even half of them to go in, but if he gets hot, the point potential is huge, especially on DraftKings, where three pointers are worth 3.5 points. He has a 23.5% usage rate on the team and is averaging 0.78 fantasy points per minute. Clearly the second scoring option behind Porzingis, but will still see the ball plenty.

DFS Forwards to Consider

Jimmy Butler - SF, MIN @ GS (DK - $6,900, FD - $7,700)

The truth of the matter when it comes to Butler is this, yes he hasn't had the greatest start to the season, but he is WAY TOO CHEAP. We know the potential upside he has, just hasn't gotten to show it yet this season. Fitting into a new team dynamic with two other stars isn't easy, so be long on him for the season. He has double digit real points in three of his last four games, and is chipping in plenty when it comes to rebounds and assists. He has a 21% usage rate and averaging 0.79 fantasy points per minute. He is up against the Warriors, who are giving up 42 fantasy points per game to small forwards, which is sixth worst in the league.

James Johnson - PF, MIA @ PHO (DK - $6,400, FD - $6,200)

Johnson may not be the first name that comes to mind when you think of great DFS power forwards, but this guy is getting it done. He has double digit points in three straight, and has an outside chance at a double-double most nights. He really fills the stat sheet, which is exactly the type of player you want from someone in his price range. He doesn't rely on just scoring to get him the fantasy points he needs to pay off value. He is up against Phoenix, who are giving up 51 fantasy points per game to power forwards, which is sixth worst in the league. He has a 22.9% usage rate and is averaging 1.06 fantasy points per minute. Great play in any format tonight, and has a strong floor of points.

DFS Centers to Consider

Alex Len - C, PHO vs MIA (DK - $4,800, FD - $4,700)

Len is the play of the night, just hear me out. First off, he is up against Miami, who is giving up 56 fantasy points per minute to centers, which is seventh worst in the league, so favorable for him. Two, he is averaging 0.99 fantasy points per minute, and if he draws the start, he will be a lock. Now why is he a great play? Well he will be going against Hassan Whiteside, who laid an absolute egg in their game Monday vs the Warriors, and rumors were going around that he was so down on himself about it, the vets on the team had to talk him through it. Never want to see a player deal with that, but if he is shaken up, Len could have an easier time on offense.
