Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks (10/18/17): NBA Advice for FanDuel, DraftKings

We have a MASSIVE 11 game slate tonight, and that means options all across the board. There are high priced guys, along with plenty of value for you to fill out a roster. With no stats available at the start of the season, we will work with what we saw from the teams last season.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 10/18/17. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on DraftKings.

If you have any questions or comments, let me know @DFS_Tom on Twitter.

DFS Guards to Consider

Damian Lillard - POR @ PHO (DK - $10,400, FD - $8,800)

Lillard seems a bit under priced on FanDuel tonight, and is in a great spot. We don't have any stats to work at the start of the season, so we'll go with what we know from last year. Lillard is up against the Suns, who don't play great defense, and also play at a fast pace. That means more offensive touches, and a higher ceiling. This is the type of spot we want to target a player, he will have more chances to rack up the fantasy points, and on a full slate, you won't have to worry about ownership percentages.

D'Angelo Russell - BKN @ IND (DK - $6,600, FD - $6,600)

Russell is making he debut for the Nets, and by all accounts he is going to be the center of the offense for Brooklyn. Simply put, the Nets don't have a ton to work with on the offensive end, and since they play a very fast paced game, he will see plenty of touches. DFS players often like to spend down at shooting guard, and with his price, he makes a good option. He will need about 33 points to hit 5x value, which is very doable tonight.

DFS Forwards to Consider

Jimmy Butler - SF, MIN @ SA (DK - $8,100, FD - $8,700)

Normally you shouldn't target players going against the Spurs, simply for the fact they are great defensively, but, but, Kawhi Leonardis out for the game, and it puts Butler in a much better spot. Butler is making he debut for his new team tonight, and with the talent they have, they should be an awesome team to watch this year. Jimmy really fills the stat sheet, which is exactly what we want to see as DFS players. He is also a bit too cheap considering what he showed he can do last year.

Ben Simmons - PF, PHI @ WAS (DK - $7,100, FD - $5,600)

Simmons is set to make his rookie debut, and there is a ton of hype behind him, along with the rest of the 76ers this season. If you love a good story line, then this is the spot for you. Isn't expensive, and the upside is big for him. No stats to back this up, but the story line is great.

DFS Centers to Consider

Hassan Whiteside - C, MIA @ ORL (DK - $8,400, FD - $9,200)

When Whiteside isn't getting bodied on twitter, he is on the court racking of double doubles often. The Heat don't have a ton of options on offense, so he will be seeing plenty of touches on offense. Seems a bit priced down on DraftKings, so you should lock him in their for cash games. Good floor of points, and the double double bonus is great.
