Yahoo MLB DFS Advice (4/19/17): Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks

Happy  Wednesday morning, early afternoon, or whenever you happen to be reading this. In any case there is a full slate of games on Wednesday. There are four afternoon games and 11 evening games. That's a total of 15 games on the slate as the whole league is in action.  Yahoo has some great value options to choose from for DFS games so let's get down to business (because, as usual, it's business time).

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for Yahoo on 4/19/17. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on Yahoo.

You can read our FanDuel and DraftKings DFS lineup picks as well. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @justinrklein.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on Yahoo

Toront Blue Jays vs RHP Rick Porcello and the Red Sox at home. This one is less about Porcello being an obvious pitcher to target and more about the Blue Jays hitters being a strong value to consider at their respective price points. A lot of that has to do with the fact that I'm planning on spending big bucks on arms, and my search for value. So keep reading and I'll meet you later on tonight in value town.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on Yahoo

Clayton Kershaw vs COL ($60)

Kershaw is on track to be one of the best pitchers of all time. If you don't know now you you know. At home at Chavez Ravine Clayton is good enough to be a large to quite large favorite against any offense you could put against him, and because of that he's worth any price tag that can reasonably be applied. Here's hoping that others shy away from him and use cheaper options like Bumgarner.

Chris Archer vs DET ($53)

Archer at home is a good bet against just about anyone and on Wednesday he is a solid favorite against Jordan Zimmermann and the visiting Detroit Tigers. While his K/9 is slightly depressed this season his 2.21 ERA and 2.02 FIP are down as well. As long as Archer is winning games and notching fantastic ratios you won't mid that he's "only" striking out about eight hitters per nine innings thus far.

DFS Infielders to Consider on Yahoo

Catcher (C) - Russell Martin vs BOS ($7)

This isn't a great matchup, but it's a value that I can't ignore. As I said above I want Blue Jays that are cheaper than they should be as I expect a solid day from their offense. After going yard on Tuesday Martin is fairly hot and dirt cheap, and that's a combination that I can't avoid.

First Base (1B) -  Steve Pearce vs BOS ($7)

Here we go again. A right handed hitting Blue Jay at a cheap price. Pearce is similar to Martin in that he's not the best bat available, but he's a good value, and on a day where a pair of expensive aces are on the hill it's all about finding values to go with them.

Second Base (2B) - Brian Dozier vs CLE ($20)

Brian Dozier gets to face RHP Trever Bauer today and that's a matchup that I'm willing to pay up for. Although Dozier is historically better against LHP he's actually been scuffling against them this season. Meanwhile he's been great against RHP as he's managed to post a .367 wOBA and a 140 wRC+ to go with an ISO of .200 against northpaws. He's expensive, but I think it pays off as Dozier is primed for a big day at the top of the Twins batting order.

Shortstop (SS) -  Jose Reyes vs PHI ($7)

Reyes has been ice cold to start the season, but he's been more unlucky then bad as evidenced by his BABIP of .139. If that number were to rise to his career norms he'd be hitting near .300 in no time at all. While there's a chance that I could pivot off of Reyes if he's buried down in the order again, there's no mistaking his propensity for value here. At just $7 Jose doesn't have to do much to return value on a day when he'll face struggling RHP Vincent Velasquez.

Third Base (3B) - Anthony Rendon - at ATL ($9)

Rendon at just $9 is a steal and I shouldn't have to go any further, but I will, since well...that's what they pay me for. Like I said earlier I'm looking to pair value bats with my aces and Rendon is one of the best values on the entire board today. While he has gotten off to a slow start on the season Anthony will likely be hitting second for the Nationals in what is one of the best lineups in the league. In his career Rendon has a 107 wRC+ against RHP, so while it looks like a tough matchup with Teheran on the surface, it's actually a solid one at this low price point.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on Yahoo

Billy Hamilton vs BAL ($12) - Hamilton gets to face RHP Ubaldo Jimenez on Wednesday and that's a good thing for him and his owners in the fake game. In his career against RHP Billy has swiped 147 bases across 1081 at bats for one per 7.35 at bats. Considering Hamilton will likely get six at bats he's over 81% of the way to a SB just by stepping into the batter's box today. Hooray for math! When you factor in that the RHP that he's facing is terrible and that he'll face him at home at Great American Ballpark the matchup gets even better. In fact I would be surprised if Billy didn't steal a base. At any rate he's a steal at just $12 today so join me and get him into all of your lineups.

Jose Bautista vs BOS ($12) - Wednesday is finally the day that Joey Bats comes alive in 2017. At least I hope it is, because he has a tasty matchup at a great price point. In his career against Porcello Bautista has notched 16 hits including 4 HR across 38 at bats. In case you're wondering that's a triple slash line of .421/.522/.737. And to be fair to Jose his .188 BABIP has been rather unlucky. While he has only six hits he has taken nine walks, so at least he's still being patient and getting on base. At home against Porcello for just $12 I can't pass up Joey Bats and neither should you. Not only will he be a solid value play, but I think he might even hit his first HR of the season as well.
