Daily Fantasy Leagues - FanDuel Lineup Picks (5/21)

P: Kyle Lohse ($6,600): If you like to gamble on pitching, Lohse is the best GPP play of the night.  He is on the road and facing Ervin Santana which could make getting a win tough, however the upside may be too much to pass on.  The Braves are near the bottom of runs scored on the year and players like B.J. Upton, Justin Upton, Dan Uggla, and Jason Heyward are free swingers who all can strike out in bunches.  Lohse has a good 2.88 ERA and 7 strikeout per nine inning ratio which means he could be in line for a big night.

C: Wilin Rosario ($3,400): In just two games back from the disabled list, Rosario is 3/8 with a home run, 3 RBI and 2 runs scored.  Along with that he gets another game in the thin air of Colorado which always means good things.  His match-up against Matt Cain also isn’t a horrible one as Cain comes into the game with a 4.33 ERA on the season.  Make sure to check his status as the team may want to rest him, but if he plays get him in your lineup.

By Keith Allison on Flickr (Originally posted to Flickr as "Chris Davis") [CC-BY-SA-2.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0)], via Wikimedia Commons1B: Chris Davis ($3,600): Prior to last night’s game, Davis had been just 5/28 with one home run since his return from the DL.  Notice we said PRIOR as Crush busted out of his slump with 3 homeruns.  Tonight he gets Wandy Rodriguez and his 6.84 ERA, don’t overthink it, play Davis.

2B: Anthony Rendon ($3,000): Rendon is always one of my favorite GPP plays because he is cheap and has a ton of power.  The power hitting second basemen has 19 extra base hits on the year to go along with 24 RBI.  Alfredo Simon has been solid this year, but does not strike out a ton of batters and two starts ago gave up 5 ER in just 3 innings pitched.

SS: Troy Tulowitzki ($5,800): Yes he is extremely high priced, but like Davis, don’t over think this pick.  Tulo is on fire at home this year and is 21/63 with 5 homeruns career against Matt Cain.  It would be wise to figure out a way to get him on your team today.

3B: Pablo Sandoval ($2,800): A cheap option to help you afford Tulowitzki is Sandoval.  Like Tulo, he is playing in Coors Field today and is facing Jhoulys Chacin who comes in with a 4.76 ERA.  Sandoval also has a good history against him as he is 8/27 with 5 extra base hits and 5 walks in 32 plate appearances.

OF: Mike Trout ($4,600): Because he is in one of the worst slumps of his career (which means pretty good for everyone else) you will get Trout cheaper today than pretty much any other day of the season.  He seems to be figuring things out with hits in three straight games including two last night.  It is more of a gut call here but that 2 HR and 6 RBI game from Trout is coming, and for this price I don’t want to miss it.
