Counter Strike: Global Offensive DFS Picks (8/05/23) - DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy

Koby Hansons' DraftKings and FanDuel. DFS lineup picks for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on 08/05/23. He analyzes CS:GO slates and top targets for eSports DFS contests.

Welcome back, RotoBallers, to another edition of my Counter-Strike: Global Offensive DFS picks. Last week was probably one of the worst showings that I can remember. Just anything I had was not going right and I second-guessed myself on a few plays that I shouldn't have. So this time around I won't be doing that. With fewer games though there is less chance to get stuff wrong.

Today I'll bring you my Counter-Strike: Global Offensive DFS lineup picks, analysis, and advice for eSports DFS contests on DraftKings for Saturday, August 5th, 2023, at 9:30 am ESTWe have a great couple of games as Ence takes on Vitality and G2 will be taking on Astralis.

Be sure to also check out our excellent CS:GO Premium DFS Tools including our Lineup Optimizer, Research Station, Projections, and DFS Cheat Sheets! Feel free to follow me on Twitter @DFSKoby or find me in Premium Slack as I am happy to engage with readers and try to answer your questions. Good luck RotoBallers!

IEM Cologne 2023 Semi-Final

Best of 3

  • Ence (+160) vs. Vitality (-220)
  • G2 (-145) vs. Astralis (+107)

Captain Plays

Zywoo: Who else? He might be the most expensive but for the longest time, you can't go wrong with Zywoo. He holds a 1.35 K/D over the last month and during this tournament only has one map where he had a negative game. I don't see that happening here against Ence. It might be a little close but that just means more rounds for Zywoo to dominate. He is our most expensive player on the slate but he is by far one of the best.

M0nesy: I'm actually surprised to see M0nesy be this cheap after the last three games. He has played extremely well recently and to get him at 7,800 was quite surprising. He has been +65 over the last three games which equates to a 1.58 K/D. Which is like Zywoo numbers and we are getting him for quite a bit cheaper. If you are going the G2 route I would absolutely start with a M0nesy captain.

Other captain plays in order of preference: Niko, Device, Spinx, Sunpayus(GPP)

Value Plays

Buzz: Buzz has been sneaky good during this tournament and has been a big part of these last two wins over NaVi and Heroic. Leading the team in kills in both games going an impressive 49-25 against Heroic and a 78-64 performance against NaVi. We get him at a steal of 6,000$ which is excellent value. This game should be a close one as these teams did just play and if we can get Buzz to continue his play the last two days then we should be set for some great value!

FlameZ: I love the price on FlameZ and over the last month he has averaged a 1.14 K/D and has been a vital part of this cruising Vitality team. He is only 7,400$ and I think is a cheap option in the captain spot too. The matchup is great and I believe it ends up being a sweep which gives us even more points for FlameZ. For the price, I believe he best fits with Zywoo as a pair!

Other value plays: Dycha(GPP), Maden(GPP), hunter, Staehr

Top Stacks / Team Picks

Vitality: I don't believe that any team is a lock by any means but Vitality I believe is the safest. They have swept every team in the tournament besides their loss to G2 who they could be meeting again in the Grand Finals. I did call the Ence upset in the Rotoballer Discord but I don't believe they have it in them to get this one done as well.

As for players, I don't believe you can go wrong but I would start your lineups with Zywoo as always. Pairing with one of Spinx or FlameZ, if you choose to go full stack then finish it out with Magisk. Apex is the only one I would avoid as he is so inconsistent that it's not worth the risk.

Other Team Picks: G2, Astralis(GPP)

Summary

TLDR: Vitality 2-0, G2 2-1

  1. Ence: SunPayus, Dycha
  2. Vitality: Zywoo, Spinx, FlameZ, Magisk
  3. G2: M0nesy, Niko, hunter
  4. Astralis: Device, BlameF, Buzz
