Cooper Kupp Year In Review - Fantasy Football Report Card

Cooper Kupp - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

How did Cooper Kupp perform in the 2022 NFL season? What was Cooper Kupp's fantasy football grade? Read the 2023 fantasy football outlook for Los Angeles Rams wide receiver here.

With the 2022 NFL regular season now in the books, it's a great time for fantasy football managers to take stock of the year.

Evaluating what went right - or wrong - with players on our rosters can help us sharpen our skills ahead of the 2023 season. In this edition of the Fantasy Football Report Card, we'll take a look at Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp.

  • 2022 Average Draft Position: 4.9 (Standard); 5.8 (PPR)
  • 2022 Fantasy Points Per Game: 14.0 (Standard); 22.4 (PPR)
  • 2022 Final Overall Fantasy Ranking: WR21 (Standard); WR22 (PPR)

Let's take a look at his 2022 season, and how he graded out for fantasy football purposes.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

How Did Cooper Kupp Perform in Fantasy Football This Season?

Following a genuinely historical 2021 season in which he piled up nearly 2,000 receiving yards and 16 TDs, Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp entered 2022 with sky-high expectations and was the first WR taken in the majority of fantasy football drafts.

While Kupp got off to a blistering start in 2022, recording 236 receiving yards and three TDs in L.A.'s first two games of the season, it quickly became apparent that this wasn't the same Rams offense that captured a Super Bowl victory in 2021.

Playing behind one of the worst offensive lines in the league, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford was under siege for large portions of 2022 and the Rams' high-octane passing attack often sputtered as a result.

Despite those challenges, Kupp continued to produce strong fantasy numbers at a steady clip, thanks largely to his elite volume. The 29-year-old averaged just over 10 targets per (healthy) game and crossed the 100-yard receiving benchmark on five occasions through L.A.'s first 10 games.

Unfortunately, Kupp's 2022 campaign was cut short when he suffered what ultimately became a season-ending ankle injury in Week 10 against the Arizona Cardinals.

Cooper Kupp's 2022 Fantasy Football Grade: Incomplete

Perhaps it's a cop-out, but a grade of "Incomplete" feels right here for Kupp, who despite the Rams' overall struggles this year, was on pace for another terrific fantasy season before going down with an ankle injury in Week 10. Kupp's 22.3 FPPG in PPR-scoring formats ended the year as the highest average at the WR position.

With their season already in the toilet, the Rams made the prudent call to shelve their star wideout for the remainder of what was a lost year.

While many were concerned about head coach Sean McVay's intentions to return in 2023, McVay has already confirmed that he'll be back on the Rams' sideline next season. His return is good news for Kupp's 2023 fantasy stock and he should once again be one of the first receivers off the board in next year's fantasy drafts.
