Cole Beasley (WR, BUF) - Week 3 Waiver Wire Pickups

Buffalo Bills wide receiver (WR) Cole Beasley is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup to target as a free agent addition for Week 3 of the 2019 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: There aren't many players in the NFL as solid as veteran wide receiver Cole Beasley. He might not be as sexy as other options out there, but if Beasley does something, it's producing on a weekly basis. Yes, he finished 2018 as the WR53, which didn't even make him a WR3 or FLEX candidate, but he ended the year averaging almost 10.0 PPR points per game. That's quite a good floor if you ask me.

After moving for Dallas to Buffalo there were some questions regarding how he would perform as he's always been a pure slot receiver while quarterback Josh Allen is mostly known for his cannon of an arm. Good news came early in training camp when it was reported that the rapport between the two was great and Beasley could turn into the go-to option for the second-year quarterback. So far in two games, it looks like that is the case.

In Week 1 Beasley logged nine targets and caught five passes for 40 yards, finishing with nine fantasy points. This weekend against the Giants he went off for 83 receiving yards hauling in all four of his targets. He didn't score a touchdown, but he averaged 20.8 yards per target after catching a 51-yard pass from Allen that moved the Bills from their own 35-yard line to the Giants' 13-yard line (Beasley had 26 yards after the catch on the play.)

If Beasley can keep his game up, perform on short routes and rack up receptions as Allen's safe option from the slot, and even sprinkle some big plays here and there, he can be a winning pick up from the waiver wire in deep leagues. The Bills don't have that many options on their receiving corps. Beasley might not be a league-winner, but he will surely give you middle-of-the-pack PPR outcomes on a weekly basis.
