Chelsea FPL Team Preview - Fantasy Premier League Predictions, Tips, Picks for 2024-2025

Soccer - Fantasy Premier League, FPL, Team Previews

Chelsea's FPL team preview, predictions, tips, and picks for Fantasy Premier League lineups. RotoBaller's EPL fantasy football team previews for 2024-2025.

Welcome to the 2024-2025 Fantasy Premier League season, RotoBallers! The game has officially launched for the new season, and it's time to start preparing for another year of FPL. We will have you covered from the preseason in July until the final kick of the season in May and everything else that happens in between.

Our team previews continue with Chelsea. After a rocky start and initial struggle to stay in the top half, the Blues had a sixth-place finish in the Premier League. With new manager Enzo Maresca now in charge, Chelsea aims to push for a top-4 finish. Cole Palmer (£10.5M), the 2023-2024 Premier League Best Young Player of the Season, was the highest FPL point-scorer last season. Will he be the main Chelsea asset to own in your FPL squad? All will be revealed in time, as we anticipate strong results from the Blues in their preseason friendlies.

The first deadline of the 2024-2025 Fantasy Premier League season is August 16 at 1:30 p.m. EDT, when Manchester United welcomes Fulham to open the campaign. Also, check out the rest of our excellent soccer coverage as the squad gets you all set for every English Premier League slate and UEFA Champions League game with our EPL DFS lineup picks and betting picks.

FPL Team Previews: Chelsea

With a string of disappointments and a terrible first half of the season, Chelsea could not climb out of 10th place until a strong run toward the final six games when the Blues remained unbeaten and secured European qualification under previous manager Mauricio Pochettino. The Blues will have a new challenge in conquering the new season, competing for a Champions League spot by attaining a top-4 finish.

Chelsea's attacking assets Nico Jackson (£7.5m) and Noni Madueke (£6.5m) were two of the main players whose strong form at the end of the season helped the Blues finish on a high note. Malo Gusto (£5m) was a key player in the Blues defense, replacing long-term absentee Reece James (£5m), who missed the majority of the 2023-2024 season due to injury.

The surprise star, however, would be Cole Palmer (£10.5m), who was without a doubt the most outstanding player on the Chelsea team, scoring high double digits in goals and assists and finishing with a total of 244 points last season. This strong performance will propel Palmer to have the highest price increase in FPL history.

Last Season's Chelsea Stats

  • League Finish: Six, 63 points
  • Most goals: Cole Palmer, 22 goals
  • Most assists: Cole Palmer, 11 assists
  • Most FPL Points: Cole Palmer, 244 points

Who is your favorite Chelsea defender for the upcoming FPL campaign?

With a new manager in charge, it's hard to pinpoint my favorite Chelsea defender. On one hand, Marc Cucurella (£5m) caught my attention with his solid performance in the just-concluded UEFA Euro 2024 tournament for Spain.

However, based on past statistics from his debut season in the Premier League, Axel Disasi (£4.5m) looks quite promising. With the new improvements to the Bonus Point system, the French defender stands a chance to gain added points for clearances, blocks, and successful tackles. Disasi amassed 3.56 clearances per 90 last season. This feature could improve his chances as a bonus magnet, especially when Chelsea keeps a clean sheet.

Which Chelsea midfielder is catching your eye?

Enzo Maresca sang his praises in preseason, and Christopher Nkunku (£6.5m) has already shown promise with a goal against Wrexham. Following his FPL reclassification from a forward to midfield, Nkunku has piqued my interest ahead of the new season. His versatility in the attack will likely earn him substantial playing time, making him a valuable addition to our fantasy teams and a crucial asset for the Blues.

The Chelsea forward who will be bagging us some FPL points is...?

With Romelu Lukaku (£6.5m) likely departing for SSC Napoli, Chelsea might still be in the transfer market for a striker. Nonetheless, I believe Nico Jackson (£7.5m), who scored 14 league goals and amassed a total of 142 points, still has the pedigree to deliver significant returns this 2024-2025 season. Jackson averaged 2.57 shots per 90 minutes and proved influential in key moments for Chelsea last season. He will be set to stake his claim as the main forward under the new manager, Enzo Maresca.

What run of fixtures favors Chelsea the most for the 2024-2025 FPL season?

Chelsea has a pretty decent start to the season from Gameweeks 2-7, but the schedule gets tougher from Gameweeks 8-13. Approaching the festive season in December, Chelsea's run of matches from Gameweeks 14-22 looks very enticing on paper. This nine-game stretch doesn't include any of last season's top-4 teams. A similar run of fixtures will be replayed between Gameweeks 30-34, but it could get rocky in the final four games, with back-to-back matchups against Liverpool, Newcastle, and Manchester United.

How many Chelsea players will you have in your Gameweek 1 squad?

Approaching the new season, I will be targeting one or two Chelsea players on my team. The appeal of top star Cole Palmer (£7.5m) seems to be a no-brainer, with the former Manchester City youngster proving he can step up in tough fixtures. Robert Sanchez, returning in goal for the Blues at (£4.5m), also offers a cheap route into the Chelsea defense and could be a strong asset for the first five games. Cole Palmer (£7.5m) and Robert Sanchez (£4.5m) are my favorite Chelsea assets to own for Gameweek 1.

What is one bold FPL prediction for any Chelsea player?

Making a swift return to the Premier League after being relegated with Leicester City, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (£6m) signing with Chelsea will be a significant upgrade in the Blues midfield. The Englishman excelled in key passes, touches in the box, and contributed 12 goals and 14 assists in last season's campaign for his former side.

My bold FPL prediction is that Dewsbury-Hall (£6m) will score close to 150 FPL points, contributing significantly to Chelsea's attack this season.
