CFB DFS Rankings for Week 3 - Daily Fantasy College Football (Saturday, 9/14/24)

Dillon Gabriel - College Football Rankings, NCAA CFB DFS Lineup Picks

Brad's CFB DFS rankings for Week 3 on 9/14/24. His daily fantasy college football rankings for QBs, RBs, and WRs and the DFS slates on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Now that we are into the season, it is often easier to get a feel for how a team or player will produce on a given week. However, be aware of box-score hunting as Week 3 can often be the first time that a team faces a top-level opponent and defense.

In GPPs, it may be a worthwhile strategy to avoid the big-name schools such as Oregon, Oklahoma, and LSU and focus on lesser-known quantities in great spots. Pittsburgh, Tulane, and Washington State all have matchups they could exploit for big games.

In this article below, you will find my CFB DFS lineup picks for Week 3 (Saturday, September 14) via my positional college football rankings. Use these CFB DFS rankings when building daily fantasy college football on DraftKings, and be sure to read the rest of our CFB DFS articles and CFB betting articles as well. Good luck, RotoBallers!

CFB DFS Quarterback Rankings

QB Cash Rankings Per $ QB GPP Rankings Per $
1 Garrett Greene 1 Dillon Gabriel
2 Thomas Castellanos 2 John Mateer
3 Eli Holstein 3 Thomas Castellanos
4 Jalen Milroe 4 Garrett Greene
5 Dillion Gabriel 5 Jalen Milroe
6 John Mateer 6 Garrett Nussmeier
7 Garrett Nussmeier 7 Jackson Arnold
8 Jackson Arnold 8 Brady Cook
9 Will Rogers 9 Eli Holstein
10 Darian Mensah 10 DJ Lagway

Quarterback is chock-full of big names this week as Heisman hopefuls Dillon Gabriel, Jalen Milroe, and Garrett Greene headline a pack of excellent cash-game plays. Gabriel is the riskiest of the high-end cash-game plays as he still is adjusting to his new offense, while veterans like Garrett Nussmeier seem settled in their systems.

On the GPP side, you will see the top guys are all dual-threat options. John Mateer is a lesser-known name who has one game of 21 rush attempts and one game with 352 yards passing. The double bonus is in play here, which could vault you up leaderboards.

CFB DFS Running Back Rankings

RB Cash Rankings Per $ RB GPP Rankings Per $
1 Darius Taylor 1 Desmond Reid
2 Ollie Gordon II 2 Darius Taylor
3 Desmond Reid 3 Mario Anderson Jr.
4 Jonah Coleman 4 Wayshawn Parker
5 Le'Veon Moss 5 Ollie Gordon II
6 Mario Anderson Jr. 6 Jonah Coleman
7 Jeremiyah Love 7 Jordan James
8 Anthony Hankerson 8 Jam Griffin
9 Wayshawn Parker 9 Montrell Johnson Jr.
10 Jordan James 10 Makhi Hughes

Running back in cash games seems pretty simple this week as Darius Taylor, Ollie Gordon II, and Desmond Reid are absolute workhorses in great matchups. Taylor and Reid are simply too cheap in cash games; if you spend up other places and cannot get to Gordon, a player like Wayshawn Parker is much cheaper and should provide a solid floor.

In GPPs, Reid and Taylor again stand out, but Mario Anderson Jr. is a player who not many may play this week due to a perceived tough matchup. However, Florida State had a bad rush defense last year and also gave up 190 yards on the ground to Georgia Tech in Week 0, so Anderson has an upside here.

CFB DFS Wide Receiver Rankings

WR Cash Rankings Per $ WR GPP Rankings Per $
1 Kyren Lacy 1 Brennan Presley
2 Konata Mumpfield 2 Mario Williams
3 Mario Williams 3 Ryan Williams
4 Deion Burks 4 Kyren Lacy
5 Elijah Badger 5 Evan Stewart
6 Kamdyn Benjamin 6 Deion Burks
7 Tez Johnson 7 Konata Mumpfield
8 Ryan Williams 8 Elijah Badger
9 Luther Burden III 9 Tez Johnson
10 De'Zhaun Stribling 10 Theo Wease Jr.

The biggest story in the wide receiver rankings this week will be the health of the Missouri duo of Luther Burden III and Theo Wease Jr. Both are expected to play but have been limited due to illness and injury. If one or both sit, that will open up a ton of value from a good Tigers passing game, so keep an eye on the situation.

On the GPP side, we try to focus on passing attacks that are likely to air out in big games. Auburn, Syracuse, Oklahoma State, and Penn State seem to fit that mold this week.
