Call of Duty DFS Lineup Picks (3/18/22) - DraftKings Daily Fantasy COD Advice

Koby Hanson's DraftKings DFS lineup picks for Call of Duty on 3/18/22. He analyzes the COD slates and top lineup targets for eSports DFS contests.

Hello there eSports DFS enthusiasts, and welcome back to RotoBaller's coverage of Call of Duty DFS contests for DraftKings! What a Major it was! Optic finished the first Major with a massive win over Atlanta FaZe. I was out of town last weekend but this weekend I'm ready to cover a great slate ahead of us! It's a bit more of a straightforward slate with really only one close game on the slate! Let's see if we can find some great spots to win some tourneys this weekend!

This is easily one of my favorite sports to cover here at Rotoballer because I play a ton of COD myself and I like to think I'm pretty good at it as well. I have been following the COD League for about five years now and I finally get to put all this knowledge to the test! London is taking on Paris this Friday with Gismo back in the starting lineup for London after a brief absence of PaulEhx filling in. Optic Texas had a close call against LAT but now gets a Seattle Surge team that loves to beat FaZe but has struggled against everyone else lately. Lastly, we have Boston Breach taking on Minnesota Rokkr in what should be our closest match of the day.

Today I'll be bringing you my COD DFS advice, analysis, and lineup picks for eSports DFS contests on DraftKings for Friday, March 18th, 2022, at 3:00 PM EST. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @DFSKoby or find me in the slack as I am happy to engage with readers and try to answer your questions!

Call of Duty: Major 2 Qualifiers

Best of 5

  • London Royal Ravens (-1400) vs. Paris Legion (+675)
  • Seattle Surge (+385) vs. Optic Texas (-600)
  • Boston Breach (-115) vs. Minnesota Rokkr (-115)

Slate Overview

Thanks to DraftKings we only have three of the four players on the slate. Gismo is back on the team after a week-long absence and ready to crush another weekend with this very good London squad. Against a very poor Paris team. Poor Temp man can't carry this team enough, unfortunately. Jimbo was atrocious in their last game out where he dropped a -52 K/D differential. This is two completely different teams and honestly, London shouldn't have too much issue with them. This should be an easy 3-0 for them.

Optic has now won 8 straight games and Seattle has lost 5 of their last 8. But they are back Online where they seemed to have more success including a 3-2 win over the Atlanta FaZe. Optic however has shown to be relentless and cruising to wins. They have been unstoppable on Control this season only dropped one game. Their toughest game mode has been SnD, and that happens to be where Seattle has had their most success. It will either be a 3-0 or a 3-1 in favor of Optic though.

Now this game is where the GPPs could thrive Because honestly, this could go either way. It comes down to which team can break their slump in Control. Both teams have been awful in the game mode.  Boston has been very good in Hardpoint and that would be their strength. They have a couple of good wins in SnD but I do give the edge to Minnesota in that one. I do think Boston can pull it off though and they take this 3-1, If they don't I think this goes the distance and Minnesota wins 3-2.

COD DFS Basics

  1. Like in CSGO, players receive two points for a kill and are penalized -1 for dying. Therefore, the simplest stat to look at here is the K/D ratio.
  2. You need to roster a team slot on both sites. Teams accrue fantasy points for games won (+4), matches won (+10), and Search and Destroy/Control rounds won (+.5).
  3. Teams will be playing best-of-five matches on a rotation of various game modes. Those modes and the order in which they are played are as follows: Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, Control, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy.
  4. In hardpoint rounds, players with positive K/D ratios are usually the highest scorers and these rounds are often the bloodiest.
  5. They also have changed a game mode from Domination to Control for League play. This is going to be a lot different in gameplay as it's round-based and not the first one to 200. They play first one to 3 round wins. You win by capturing both points or killing the enemy team until they run out of their lives. One team defends and the other attacks.
  6. There is a sweep bonus this year as teams and players both can get a 20 point player sweep and a 5 point team sweep. In the chance, they do sweep they also get granted a bonus of 20 points for not playing hardpoint and a bonus of 5 points for not playing the final Search and Destroy map. So that adds up in a sweep to a total of 45 extra points which are going to be very crucial this year.

COD DFS Captain Considerations

Dashy: This man has been on an absolute tear recently. He has dropped 113 or better in 6 straight games scored by DK with three of them being over 130 DKP. He has been on an insane run and I think he continues to tear it up here against Seattle where he dropped 138 in their previous meeting. He is a solid price at 8,800$ and is a nice discount compared to the rest of the board at the top. This season, Dashy is averaging a 1.23 K/D in Hardpoint, a 1.43 in SnD, and a 1.25 in Control.

Afro: Afro got quite the price hike after his recent performances and I don't blame them for doing so it was about time they did it. He has been tearing it up lately and is now at 9k for this slate. But with a sweep likely for this matchup, in the captain spot, it basically starts with 67.5 points not factoring in any kills or hill time which he has done well at so far this year. I could easily see him scoring 120+ tomorrow. He holds a 1.11 K.D in hardpoint, a 1.09 in SnD, and a 1.03 in Control that leads the team.

Other captain plays: Capsidal, Standy, Nastie, Shotzzy, Priestahh, Sib(GPP)

COD DFS Value Plays

Illey: I think you can go with Illey or Scump but Illey being the cheaper one here made the Value play today. Optic very well could either sweep or finish in a 3-1. Either way, Illey can score well and has been improving throughout the season and has scored 92 Fantasy points or better in his last 6 games with 4 of them being 110 or better. If Optic sweeps, we could see a 100+ point performance out of him easily. I feel like Illey gets overlooked the most on this team and honestly, he has been very good for this team, he has averaged a 1.07 K/D in hardpoint with an average of 82 seconds in hill time. A 1.05 K/D in SnD, and a .95 K/D in Control but has been increasing his numbers recently in Control which is encouraging.

Methodz: This is scraping the bottom of the barrel here but Methodz hasn't been all that bad this season. He isn't putting up insane numbers but he also isn't playing horribly either. He hasn't been the most consistent but his worst games scored by DK have been against FaZe and Optic. Surprise Surprise there right? Every other game he has scored 90 DKP or better. His overall K/D is a 1.06 in Hardpoint, a 1.01 in SnD, and a .96 in Control which isn't all that bad considering how awful this team has been in Control this season. For 6,400$ I believe Methodz is well worth a shot, especially in some GPPs.

Other value plays: Scump, Attach, Priestahh, Pred(GPP)

COD DFS Stacks

Optic Texas: I was going to put London here but DraftKings can't even be bothered to get the roster correct for this weekend they are insanely pricey and it would be difficult to get more than one in your lineups. Next, the best option is the Major 1 winners themselves! It was an impressive showing from them all event long and I think they carry their momentum into Major 2. Optic all around is priced quite reasonably this slate and that can make for stacking them much easier. They are in line for either a sweep or a 3-1 win. I don't see this one going the distance. Optic's biggest weakness so far has been SnD so if they lose any map it will be that one. Dashy is a very good price and has been overall the best on the team K/D wise. Shotzzy leads the team in engagements and is getting the most kills but also leads the team in deaths as well. Those are your best two options though. As it goes for Scump and Illey, they are both fairly cheap but I like Illey just a bit better.

Other Team Plays: London Royal Ravens, Boston Breach, Minnesota Rokkr, Seattle Surge (GPP)

Summary

  1. TLDR: London 3-0, Optic 3-1, Boston Breach 3-1
  2. London: Afro, Nastie, Zero, (PAULEHX IS NOT PLAYING!!!!)
  3. Paris: Temp
  4. Optic: All
  5. Seattle: Mack, Pred
  6. Boston Breach: Capsidal, Methodz, Nero
  7. Minnesota Rokkr: Priestahh, Attach, Standy
