Tampa Bay Buccaneers - NFL Betting Analysis

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will look to start the regular season off with a win, as they are coming off a 2021-2022 season in which they appeared in the post-season. However, their season ended with 30-27 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round. During the regular season, the Buccaneers posted a record of 13-4, making them the Champions of the NFC South.

This season, Tampa Bay will look to once again be strong on offense, as the team averaged 30.1 points per game in 2021-2022, placing them 30.1 in the league. The Buccaneers will square off against last season's 7th ranked scoring defense. Tampa Bay averaged 29.0 points per game against top 10 defenses in the 2021-2022 season.

One reason the Tampa Bay Buccaneers finished the 2021-2022 season with an excellent offense was their ability to start games strong, posting the 7th best scoring margin in the 1st quarter. On average they scored 6.29 points per game in the opening quarters.

Leading into this week's matchup, Tampa Bay will once again roll with Tom Brady in his 23rd season in the league. Brady is coming off a season in which he started all 17 games for Tampa Bay. His overall passing yards of 5,316 placed him 1st among other NFL quarterbacks.

As a defensive unit, the Buccaneers finished the 2021-2022 season ranked 5th in the league, giving up just 20.8 points per game. Last year, Tampa Bay finished 6th in points allowed per play.

Dallas Cowboys - NFL Betting Analysis

The Dallas Cowboys will look to start the regular season off with a win, as they are coming off a 2021-2022 season in which they appeared in the post-season. However, their season ended with 23-17 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card round. During the regular season, the Dallas Cowboys posted a record of 12-5-0, making them the Champions of the NFC East.

As the Cowboys take on the Cowboys, they will hope for a big game from last year's 1st ranked offense. Last season's unit averaged 31.2 points per game. Coming into the game, the Cowboys' offense will look to put up points against last year's 5th ranked scoring defense. Last season, they scored an average of 23.25 points per game vs top 10 scoring defenses.

On offense, the Dallas Cowboys put together one of the top scoring offenses while finishing near the NFL average in time of possession per contest (16th). The team won the time of possession battle in 8 of last season's game.

Leading into this week's matchup, Dallas will once again roll with Dak Prescott in his 7th Season season in the league. Last year, Prescott made 16 starts for the Cowboys. Overall, he finished 7th in passing yards with a total of 4,449.

As a defensive unit, the Cowboys finished the 2021-2022 season ranked 7th in the league, giving up just 21.1 points per game. Coming into the game, the Cowboys defense will look to slow down last year's 2nd ranked scoring offense. Last season, they allowed an average of 24.0 points per game to top 10 scoring offenses.

Today's NFL Betting Pick - Buccaneers vs. Cowboys

Over the last 5 matchups between Tampa Bay and Dallas, the Cowboys have won 3 of the last 5 games. Last season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers covered the spread in over half of their games, putting together an ATS record of 9-8. On the road, Tampa Bay finished with an ATS mark of just 3-6. Similar to their overall performance vs the spread, Cowboys performed well at home, covering 62.0% of their games home from home. The team's strong performance vs the spread came while being favored in 13 of their games.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers come into this season off a 2021-2022 campaign in which they finished with an over-under mark of 9-8. When playing on the road, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers finished the season averaging 27.22 points per game, right in line with their season average of 30.1.The team's defensive numbers took a hit, as they allowed an average of 20.76 points per game.
