Tennessee Titans wide receiver (WR) Adam Humphries is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup to target as a free agent addition for Week 8 of the 2019 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: To find someone with Adam Humphries track record available in almost every league is a little baffling. Yes, he has underperformed this season, but the faith of owners in him seems to be completely buried underground at this point. And yes, you should take advantage of it before anyone else does. While not an elite talent, Humphries finished last season as a low-end WR2 in fantasy leagues, so the ability is there and it is only a matter of time it shows more than it has so far.

Back in 2018, Humphries had five performances at a WR2-level of play, including two at WR1-points in Weeks 9 and 13. His ceiling based on pure talent is between the 20 and 30 fantasy points, but he’s just had no chance to showcase it this season playing in a rather mediocre offense led by Marcus Mariota after signing with Tennessee in the summer. The last three weeks have not been the worst for Humphries, though. He is on a three-game streak of 30-plus receiving yards on four-plus catches and targets in each game. His fantasy scores have gone for 7.0, 10.7 and 8.0 points respectively.

The change from Mariota to Ryan Tannehill seems to have made him better too, as he caught his four targets in Week 7 to reach 40 yards. Going forward, Humphries and the Titans have a rather favorable couple of games against Tampa Bay (second-worst defense against WRs) and Carolina (seventh-worst). Humphries will keep a no. 2 or no. 3 role among the Titans receivers no matter what, and he might see an uptick in usage and performance playing under Tannehill. If you play on a league deeper than usual and have multiple flex spots to fill or a hole in your roster, then Humphries is one of the most solid options you can almost assuredly pick up for free.
