Washington Capitals defenseman John Carlson logged a goal and a power-play helper to help earn his team a 4-3 win over the New Jersey Devils on Sunday. Carlson, who entered the matinee with just one assist over his past six contests, also fired off four shots and a hit while leading all Caps blue-liners with 21:49 of ice time. A candidate for the Vezina Trophy as the league's top defenseman last season, the 31-year-old has gotten off to a nice start to the campaign with 14 points (five goals, nine assists), six power-play points, 46 shots and 19 hits through 17 games. He's one of the game's most valued fantasy rearguards and should remain set in starting lineups no matter who he plays.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
