Rangers Acquire Designated Hitter Khris Davis From A's

The Texas Rangers traded for designated hitter Khris Davis from the A's in exchange for shortstop Elvis Andrus. Catcher Jonah Heim and minor league pitcher Dane Acker will also head to Texas while Oakland is acquiring catcher Aramis Garcia and cash to offset Andrus' salary. Davis was the toast of the analytics community after 2018 when the slugger was coming off his third-straight season of top-percentile barrel-rate and average exit velocity. Davis clubbed 42, 43, and 48 homers, respectively in those three seasons making him a fantasy-star despite DH-only eligibility on some sites. In the past two seasons, however, Davis' barrel rate has halved. His expected stats plummeted such as putting up a career-low .220 xBA last season as he fell off the fantasy radar. Davis is not worth rostering in the majority of fantasy leagues unless he shows signs of life in Spring Training.
