LPL DFS Picks for 4/7/20: DraftKings League of Legends Daily Fantasy Advice

Dan Palyo's League of Legends (LoL) DFS advice for FanDuel and DraftKings lineups for LPL slates on 4/7/20. His top LoL value plays and eSports DFS recommendations.

Welcome to RotoBaller's League of Legends DFS column. I hope you are enjoying and utilizing our daily analysis for LoL DFS and we want to continue to cover the LPL and LCK slates in addition to the LEC/LCS playoffs all the way through the end of the Spring split.

We have only three games tonight in the LPL as we won't welcome back the LCK until tomorrow night. Last night's games went pretty much as our head Esports analyst Jason Malmanger predicted, but tonight should be a tad more challenging as there are two games that project to be close and only one real "sure thing" on the slate with FPX being heavily favored in their match.

Today I'll be providing my League of Legends DFS advice, analysis, and picks for this LPL slate on FanDuel and DraftKings that locks at 2:00 AM on Tuesday, April 7th, 2020.

LPL Matches

2:00 AM: DMO vs. BLG (-180)

Despite a 3-10 record, DMO enters this game as a very small underdog against 7-12 BLG. DMO has two wins in their last four matches, but those were against weak teams. They have been handled 2-0 in nearly all of their losses and simply are a bad team despite their recent success.

While BLG has only one win over their last eight games, they have taken most of their opponents to a third game and have a more talented team. BLG has better baron and vision control than DMO and the positional matchups at jungler and mid-laner. Both teams are priced where they are pretty attractive options tonight in order to fit in FPX or one of the teams from the second game, but I lean BLG here by a good bit.

Meteor (JNG) and FoFo (MID) are the top options here for BLG, while ADD is likely to start at TOP again and gives this team a nice upgrade over kingen there. I love the GPP upside of BLG here at their prices if they win 2-1.

If you want to use DMO tonight, then Natural (TOP) and Gala (ADC) are my favorite pieces. I hate hedging more than one game (and I have to hedge the second game) on a three-game slate, so I'll likely be all in on BLG tonight but wouldn't blame anyone for taking a shot on DMO.

5:00 AM: EStar (-165) vs. JDG

The second match of the night is shaping up to be the most exciting one on the slate and is oozing with fantasy potential. These two teams rank first (JDG) and third (EStar) in kill-to-death ratio and are both 12-win teams that sit atop the LPL standings. Both of these teams are very talented but play conflicting styles with EStar playing more recklessly a lot of the time which can lead to big kill counts but also leaves them vulnerable against good competition.

I like JDG to win tonight and they are priced a lot cheaper than ES on both Fanduel and DraftKings despite being only slight underdogs. They are looking for a signature win here as they have beaten up on all the lesser teams but failed to beat TES, RNG, or FPX. The addition of Zoom (TOP) to the starting lineup really makes this team formidable going forward. They also have a sizeable advantage over Estar at jungler as Kanavi has been one of the best in the LPL this season. Loken is an attractive option at ADC and is underpriced for his upside in this match.

EStar is priced higher than any team on the slate, but always carry massive upside with their ability to rack up huge kill counts with their loose and free playing style. Cryin (MID) and Wink (ADC) are the guys who do the majority of the damage for eStar and have put up some huge scores this season.

While I like JDG to win, I certainly won't fade ES entirely because they can absolutely break the slate if this match goes three games and is the bloodiest one on the slate. For that reason, I think you can also entertain a full-game stack here which is not usually a strategy that I endorse, but I think it's viable tonight.

7:00 AM: FPX (-1000) vs. LNG

This is really the only game that could be a snoozer as FPX is one of the best teams in the LPL and facing a middling LNG team that is currently 9-7 but has dropped five straight matches. FPX has the second-best kill-to-death ratio in the league (second only to JDG) and could make quick work of this struggling LNG team.

Doinb (MID) and Crisp (SUP) are a dynamic duo for FPX and lead the team in kill participation. They make great options for cash games and can be paired with Tian (JNG) and Lwx (ADC) for a four-man stack. Their prices on FanDuel make them a bit more playable over there.

Make no mistake about it, they are the safest team on the slate to stack, but will also be very chalky on a three-game slate and could underwhelm if LNG doesn't put up much of a fight.

LNG = FADE

Summary

  1. Play FPX in cash, but they may not carry a ton of upside in tournaments if they win too easily.
  2. I like both sides of the JDG-ES game as it has the potential to go to three games and be very bloody.
  3. BLG is my favorite underdog on the slate, they should probably be favored and a strong value stack.
