Phil Mickelson finally showed some signs of life at the beginning of February by logging a T3 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, but his performance in that event is a bit misleading when taking into consideration that he lost strokes on approach. It was the same story for the veteran at Riviera, when he lost 1.5 strokes with his irons en route to a missed cut in the Genesis. "Lefty" will need to find some form on approach if he hopes to compete at a Bay Hill layout that places an emphasis on good iron play.
