New Jersey Devils left wing Nikita Gusev had a hat trick of assists in Thursday's 6-4 win over Montreal, recording his first career multi-point game. The Russian winger reached the landmark already in the opening frame, setting up linemates Blake Coleman and Travis Zajac for goals. He added one assist later on in the third on a Damon Severson goal. Gusev built himself a big reputation in the KHL, but he's struggled in North America, and he's been a healthy scratch more than a few times this season. His form has improved a bit over the recent weeks, but he's an inconsistent performer who doesn't even get 10 minutes of action in some games, so we shouldn't get excited just yet.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
