Domingo German Lacks Run Support, Falls In Oakland

New York Yankees starter Domingo German has jumped to the top of the MLB wins category by receiving a very healthy amount of run support from his offense. On Tuesday night in Oakland, however, that wasn't the case as he took just his third loss of the season and first in nearly three months. The 27-year-old didn't pitch well, going just 5 1/3 innings and allowing five earned runs on eight hits and two walks. An early lead was blown immediately, as he served up two home runs in the first inning. While five runs hasn't been decisive for him this season, the Yankees offense mustered just two runs, resulting in defeat. German's next start is scheduled for Sunday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
