Carolina Hurricanes right wing Andrei Svechnikov scored the game-winning goal in overtime in Sunday's 2-1 victory against the Montreal Canadiens. With the goal he became the youngest player in franchise history to score an overtime goal (18 years, 363 days). He also became the 13th rookie in franchise history to score at least 20 goals in a season, and he leads all NHL rookies this season in goals. Oddly enough, all 20 of his goals this season have come at even strength, too. Vancouver's Elias Pettersson might still win the Calder Trophy for the top rookie, but Svechnikov is certainly making a late push for the award.--Daniel Dobish
