We have a 10-game slate to break down giving us plenty of options to look at tonight. There are a ton of high-priced skaters you want to be rostering tonight and plenty of games with high over-unders, so could be in for a slate with inflated scores.
Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually, 5.5 goals are average, so targets game at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 11/29/18. DFS Forwards to Consider
John Tavares - C, TOR @ BUF (FD - $8,000, DK - $6,700)
Everyone is pumped that Auston Matthews is back for the Maple Leafs and that is for good reason, but Tavares is still up on the first power-play and you should want plenty of him in your lineups tonight. He is simply too cheap on DraftKings tonight, which should make him viable in all formats tonight, especially since we have a game where the over-under is set at 6.5 goals. Tavares has seven points in his last seven games, taking over three shots per game and the center on the second forward line.
Nikolaj Ehlers - W, WPG @ NYI (FD - $5,400, DK - $5,400)
Ehlers should be one of the chalkier plays on the slate, given his price and his matchup tonight. He is up on the first forward line for the Jets, who are a threat on any given slate but should be extra popular against the Islanders who have a 59 Corsi Against this season, which is sixth worst in the league. Ehlers has six points in his last four games, along with eight shots in that same span, which should get a slight boost tonight due to the positive matchup. That is where his floor of points comes from and with him being on the second power-play unit, he has a solid ceiling tonight.
DFS Defenders to Consider
Kris Letang - D, PIT vs COL (FD - $6,800, DK - $6,000)
Letang might be the best overall defender on the slate if pricing wasn't an issue, but despite his higher price you should consider spending up tonight. He finds himself in a game where the over-under is set at 6.5 goals, so we are expecting plenty of scoring from both sides. Most of the scoring for the Penguins come from their top offensive units, which means Letang should be involved with him being on the first defensive pairing and the first power-play unit. He essentially gets you exposure to Crosby and Malkin without paying all the way for their prices, making him solid for cash games or tournaments tonight.
Jared Spurgeon - D, MIN @ VAN (FD - $4,600, DK - $4,400)
Spurgeon is never expensive across the industry and often produces solid fantasy points. He comes in averaging slightly under two shots per game, along with about 1.5 blocked shots per game, which is super solid for a player under $5K. That is his normal production, which is fine for cash games, but with him also on the second power-play, he has a bit of upside, which generally comes from an assist or two. Those assists are sometimes few and far between, so use him in a stack, which is the right call tonight against a weak Vancouver team.
DFS Goalies to Consider
Carey Price - G, MON vs OTT (FD - $8,400, DK - $8,200)
Price and the Canadiens come in as -185 home favorites since they are going up against a weaker Senators team. Price should be among the chalkier goalies on the slate, making him cash game viable, but doesn't have a ton of upside. He has under 30 saves in four of his last six starts, so the upside from the saves won't be there, but the win should be there, along with limiting the goals tonight.
