Phillies Sign Ryan Goins

The Philadelphia Phillies bolstered their depth at the Triple-A level on Tuesday by signing veteran infielder Ryan Goins to a minor league contract. The 30-year-old had previously been with the Kansas City Royals this year, hitting .226 with eight doubles and six RBI in 41 games. The 30-year-old had been assigned to Triple-A Omaha with the Royals before signing with the Phillies. While he has major league experience, it seems unlikely that he makes an impact with the big league club, as there are enough infielders on the roster currently constituted.
