Ottawa Senators defenseman Erik Karlsson will not be joining the team on their season-ending three-game road trip. The Senators have little to play for at this point, so it makes plenty of sense for Karlsson to be with his wife, Melinda, and family as they continue to mourn the loss of their unborn son. If there is any truth to the persistent rumors surrounding Karlsson, he may have played his last game as a Senator, and if so, his three assists in a 6-5 loss would be a poetic ending to his Ottawa tenure. Karlsson leads all defensemen in points per game since 2013 (0.9 points per game), and with 62 points in 71 games this year, he is on pace to lead all defensemen in points per game again. Wherever Karlsson plays next year, he will remain an elite fantasy option.--Russ Ivanac - RotoBaller
