FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (5/8/16): MLB DFS Advice

Jason Bales highlights the top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for 5/8/16. These are the top value and sleeper plays for your FanDuel MLB DFS lineups.

Happy Mother's Day! Do not forget to tell your mom how awesome she is!

Let's win a little bit of money for mom on Mother's Day. Here are the top plays of the day:

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/8/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel

San Francisco Giants

The San Francisco Giants get a great matchup against the Colorado Rockies and Eddie Butler tonight. Butler is pitching for the Rockies, so it should already be assumed that he is not a great pitcher, but he is also one of the worst on the Rockies' staff. The Giants are a great hitting team. Stack them in both 50/50 contests and tournaments.

Cincinnati Reds

The Cincinnati Reds get a great matchup against Junior Guerra and the Milwaukee Brewers. Guerra currently has a 6.00 ERA and only three strikeouts, giving up four runs in six innings against the struggling Los Angeles Angels. The Reds are hot right now, so taking a couple of their more powerful hitters makes sense in tournaments. Joey Votto is on pace for an incredible May, so take that into consideration.

Toronto Blue Jays

The Toronto Blue Jays scored two runs against Clayton Kershaw in seven innings, which is actually solid. Kershaw is the best pitcher in the league. Tonight, Ross Stripling will pitch, so the Blue Jays are one of the top stacks on the board, especially considering that they are playing in Toronto. Do not hesitate here.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

Jake Arrieta

This should not take much convincing; Jake Arrieta is the best pitcher in the league right now. His ERA is under one, he has a 6-0 record, and he has 37 punch-outs in 43 innings of work. Use him in all formats.

Jose Quintana

Jose Quintana is another great pitching option tonight, as he gets a great matchup against the Minnesota Twins. The Twins love to strikeout, and Quintana is a strikeout pitcher. He has been pitching great all season long, and that should continue into tonight. Use him in tournaments due to his upside. Stick with Arrieta in 50/50 contests.

Matt Andriese

Here is a bonus option for Mother's Day: Matt Andriese has huge upside tonight against the Los Angeles Angels. The Angels are not one of the better hitting teams in the league, and Andriese has tremendous strikeout potential. In his last Triple-A game, he struck out 14 batters in seven innings of work. Use him in tournaments only.

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Catcher (C) - Buster Posey

Buster Posey is the best catcher in the league, and he is starting to heat up for the San Francisco Giants. He is hitting over .300 this season with four home runs and 11 RBIs. He should crush Eddie Butler tonight.

First Base (1B) - Hanley Ramirez

Hanley Ramirez is getting overshadowed by David Ortiz so far this season, but he still makes for a solid option in tournaments. He is hitting slightly under .300 with three home runs and 17 RBIs. He has four hits in his last four games, and two of them are home runs. It looks like the Boston Red Sox first baseman is heating up.

Second Base (2B) - Rougned Odor

Rougned Odor is absolutely on fire right now for the Texas Rangers. In his last four games, he has two home runs and seven hits, four of which are for extra bases. On the season, he is hitting .287 with five home runs and 19 RBIs. Use him in all formats for the time being.

Shortstop (SS) - Troy Tulowitzki

Troy Tulowitzki makes for a great tournament option tonight against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Toronto. Despite his low batting average, he is hitting the ball hard, and he should see them start dropping soon. Do not use him in 50/50 contests; he is a tournament only option.

Third Base (3B) - Cheslor Cuthbert

Cheslor Cuthbert makes for a great play in tournaments tonight, as long as the Kansas City Royals decide to make him the starting third baseman during Mike Moustakas' absence. Christian Colon may find his way over to third, but yesterday, Cuthbert made the start. He hit over .300 in Triple-A, so he has great upside.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Hunter Pence

Hunter Pence is one of the best outfielders in the league, and he appears to be fine after suffering a bit of back tightness two games ago. He has been hitting the cover off of the ball, so fit him into the lineup somehow.

Ryan Braun

Ryan Braun is another outfielder that has been very solid this season. He has bounced back from his poor 2015 campaign, and he is hitting over .350 with five home runs and 22 RBIs. The Milwaukee Brewers should score tonight against the Cincinnati Reds, so use him in all formats.

Brandon Drury

Brandon Drury is still too cheap. He gets a solid matchup against the Atlanta Braves' terrible pitching staff, and he is hitting .300 right now. He has power and contact, so using him in tournaments and 50/50 contests makes a lot of sense.
