BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 17% Fleaflicker
ANALYSIS: Valencia is off to a relatively slow start, as he is yet to homer and has only driven in two runs. Impatient owners may be ready to jump ship and place him back into the waiver pool. Valencia is getting on base (.286 AVG, .340 OBP), so he isn't struggling to see the ball. If last year is any indication, the power should follow as the weather warms. In 2015, Valencia started in similar fashion - good average, but no homers in April and only six by the All-Star break. He did most of his mashing in the second half, ending with a career-high 18 HR and 66 RBI in only 345 AB. Fantasy owners will need to remain patient until he finds his groove. He may be more of a bench stash/depth play in all but deep leagues right now, but your patience may be rewarded in time.
Update: Valencia strained his hamstring Wednesday night and is day-to-day. If he requires a DL stint, he becomes a bench stash or a waiver wire add for May, once he returns.
