PGA DFS: DraftKings Fantasy Golf Sleeper Picks and Advice for the Waste Management Phoenix Open

Golf is a gentleman's game. Fans applaud and are mostly very polite and respectful. The Waste Management Phoenix Open is the complete opposite. It is the rowdiest golf tournament. Most of the fans are very drunk. They dress up in all different costumes, and shout and scream at the players. It's made for TV.

If you don't watch golf on a regular basic, I highly suggest you tune in on Saturday and Sunday to watch this great spectacle. Hopefully we get to see another hole-in-one on the famous Par 3 16th.

The tournament will be played at TPC Scottsdale. The course is a par 71, and 7,216 yards long. Brooks Koepka is the defending champion.

Stats To Look At

Thanks to this great forum I am apart of, The Fantasy Golf, here are the stats you should be looking at.

Strokes Gained: Tee-to-green

Greens in Regulation

Par 3 Performance

Par 4 Performance

My Picks

Bubba Watson ($12,100)

Back-t0-back runner up finishes at the Phoenix Open. You can be sure he will be looking to win it this time. In the past five years, he's had the best average score. He is well rested, as his last tournament played was the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, January 7-10, where he finished T10th. Watson will be heavily owned this week, but is a must start.

Hideki Matsuyama ($11,000)

Back-t0-back top five finishes, including runner-up last year. He's also 11th in T2G. I am looking for Matsuayama to rebound from being cut at the Farmers Insurance.

Kevin Na ($10,000)

His stats seem perfect for this tournament. He is second in Par 4 Perf, first in Par 3 Perf, ninth in T2G, and T24 in GIR. He finished 26th last year, 19th in 2014, 36th in 2013, and 5th in 2012. His last tournament played, CareerBuilder Challenge, Na finished T3.

Webb Simpson ($9,200)

He did not play here last year and 2013, but played exceptionally in 2014, 10th place finish,  2012, 8th, and 2011, 8th. His stats are great for this tournament, 21st in GIR, T16 in Par 4 Perf, and T18 in T2G.

David Lingmerth ($9,000)

He has been on fire as of late. He finished T15 at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, T13 at the Sony Open, and second at the CareerBuilder Challenge. His stats are great; T7 in Par 4 Perf, T30 in Par 3 Perf, and 37th in T2G. He is a must play.

Brendan Steele ($8,800)

Steele has had the second average finish score here in the past five years. Last year he finished 26th, but in the three years before that, he finished 6th, 6th, and 5th.

Jason Bohn ($7,400)

He is ninth in GIR, third in Par 4 Perf, T17th in Par 3 Perf, and 10th in T2G. He was cut at the CareerBuilder Challenge, but sat out this past weekend of play. His best finish was way back in 2007, then the FBR Open, where he finished T11th. He will be low owned, and I like him to make a surprise run.

William McGirt ($7,200)

Here's a sleeper pick. He is T26 in Par 4 Perf,  T1o in Par 3 Perf, and 21st in T2G. He was cut at the CareerBuilder Challenge, but the week before that finished T13 at the Sony Open in Hawaii. In his last three tournaments here, he finished 30th, 19th, and 32nd.

Anirban Lahiri ($6,700)

He was cut at the Farmers Insurance which will make him an unpopular pick this week. I think you should buy his stock though. He finished T28 at the CareerBuilder Challenge scoring 99.5 fantasy points the week before the Farmers Insurance. His stats are okay; T56 in Par 4 Perf, and T41 in Par 3 Perf.

Steven Bowditch ($6,400)

The Aussie finished T10th at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, and did not finish at the Sony Open in Hawaii. He's cheap and I like how he is T23 in Par 3 Perf. If he can convert on some of the Par 3's he will outperform his value.

Brendon de Jonge ($6,300)

His average score over the past five Phoenix Open's is 68.75. At this low of a price, I don't see how you can pass this player up as salary relief, minimally. Additionally, he finished sixth here in 2013.
