Risky Daily Fantasy Football Playoffs Starts

Brandon Lafell (WR, NE)

I feel like at this point most people are painfully aware that Brandon Lafell is a risky weekly start in any situation. Lafell has struggled to balance his addiction to butterfingers and the need to catch the ball to keep his job for his entire career. Every week is a constant battle between whether to put on oven mitts or football gloves when he enters the field.

Facing Aqib Talib while Chris Harris sits (mostly) on the bench due to a shoulder injury is not the situation where Lafell is expected to thrive or even receive enough passes to be anything more than touchdown or bust. All signs point to the offense throwing in a completely different direction, and that's exactly what should be happening this week.
John Brown (WR, ARI)

In the opposite conference, John Brown feels to me like the guy who will be seeing a lot of Josh Norman. With Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd both being used often out of the slot, Brown should be the guy left to man the outside which is exactly where Norman tends to chase after his prey. He's my choice to be the odd man out (or at least the smallest contributor) of the Cardinals offense.
Peyton Manning (QB, DEN) and Demaryius Thomas (WR, DEN)

QB scoring is all about throwing touchdowns. One thing Peyton hasn't done well this year is throw touchdown passes. Or throw passes in general. Unfortunately for all fans of good football, Peyton is on his last legs.

Although he'll be making his final grandstand against an old rival this weekend, he'll be doing it as a much different (and worse) player than he ever was before. Peyton's strength at this point is being smart enough to make the correct adjustments to the run game that allow for C.J. Anderson to make the most of his runs.

Meanwhile, his formerly most trusted WR Demaryius Thomas has gotten too into performance art and the one man show "I Will Get Open, But I Won't Catch it" is still on full display despite being panned by all critics. On top of that, Bill Belichick's favorite defensive ideas always involve trying to take the most dangerous player on the field out of the game plan. There are no Broncos i'd feel less confident in than these two.
