Did anyone see Russell Westbrook last night? He triple doubled in the beginning of the third quarter, but essentially failed to record any stats after that. Talk about about a fantasy disappointment.

In this article, I will be providing you with Daily NBA picks for DraftKings for 1/16/16. The picks will range from some of the elite players, to mid-priced options, and value plays.

DraftKings DFS Point Guards

Chris Paul (vs SAC, $9,200)

Chris Paul has been on fire recently, averaging 21.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 12.3 assists, and 2.5 steals per game over the last 10 days. He has scored 45+ fantasy points in five consecutive games, including three games with 50+ fantasy points. He gets a great matchup against the Kings, who he has dominated twice this season. The Clippers are dealing with a few injuries in the frontcourt, so this game likely won’t be a blowout, and Paul makes a great play in all leagues for his price tonight.

Raul Neto (vs LAL, $3,500)

Neto doesn’t have great upside, but he doesn’t need it for his price tag. He is extremely cheap, and he has played 20+ minutes in each of his last six games. He gets a great matchup against the Lakers tonight, who have been one of the worst defenses in the NBA. This will be a bit higher of a paced game for Neto and the Jazz, and he’s a good option that will allow you to get some of the elite guys in your lineup.

 

DraftKings DFS Shooting Guards

Lou Williams (at UTA, $6,400)

Williams has been a huge part of the Lakers offense this season, and that will continue tonight. He has been playing well recently, as he’s averaging 22.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game over the last 10 days. The matchup against Utah isn’t ideal because of the way they slow down the pace to games, but he scored nearly 40 fantasy points against them earlier this season, and he’s a high upside play again tonight.

Avery Bradley (at WAS, $5,200)

Regardless of how well or bad Bradley has been playing, he is guaranteed big minutes and he is a huge part of the Celtics offense. He gets a great matchup against the Wizards, who have struggled against the shooting guard this season. Bradley isn’t the most consistent player, but he’s a great salary relief option if you need to save a bit of money at the shooting guard position tonight.

 

DraftKings DFS Small Forwards

Carmelo Anthony (at MEM, $8,300)

Melo is expected to return tonight, but he is still questionable, so check his status before the games lock. He gets a matchup against an average Memphis defense, and he was on fire before he was injured. In his last five games, he’s averaging 21.8 points, 8.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.0 block in 34.1 minutes per game. He tends to play nearly 40 minutes each night, and his usage rate is the highest on the slate. He’s a great play in all leagues if he’s announced the starter without a minutes restriction.

Robert Covington (vs POR, $5,000)

Covington’s status is based on the status of Jerami Grant, who is currently listed as doubtful. If he’s ruled out, Covington will play big minutes again, and he has displayed great upside when given the opportunity. He’s coming off a great 41 fantasy point performance against the Bulls, and he’ll get another great matchup against the Blazers tonight. Portland has really struggled defensively because of the fast pace they play at, and Covington can be used in all leagues if Grant is out.

 

DraftKings DFS Power Forwards

DeMarcus Cousins (at LAC, $10,500)

Cousins is way too hot right now to avoid, and he can be used in all leagues that he fits. Over the last 10 days, he’s averaging a ridiculous 33.0 points, 14.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.0 steals per game. He’s also averaging 40.5 fantasy points in only 24.6 minutes per game against the Clippers this season. Los Angeles has been dealing with a few injuries in their frontcourt, and Cousins is my favorite play on the slate.

Trey Lyles (vs LAL, $4,500)

Lyles is coming off two of his best scoring performances in his early NBA career, and he played 39 minutes in his last game. The Jazz will be without Derrick Favors and Trevor Booker again tonight, which means Lyles will likely be playing all the minutes he can handle again. He gets a good matchup against the Lakers, who have surprisingly player well against the power forward this season. Lyles certainly comes with some risk, but he has a low price tag, and makes a great play tonight.

 

DraftKings DFS Centers

Jahlil Okafor (vs POR, $6,200)

Okafor has somewhat been struggling recently, as he’s only averaging 16.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.2 steals per game over the last 10 days, but he is playing big minutes and he has a great usage rating. He gets a great matchup against the Blazers, who have struggled against big men this season, and Okafor should be able to pull in a few extra rebounds tonight. He’s an elite scorer in the post, and he’s a great GPP option tonight.
