So Week 14 is now pretty much in the books and we have a few serious injuries that shake things up a little. Thomas Rawls broke his ankle and will miss the remainder of the year. Andy Dalton seems to have broken the thumb on his throwing hand and will be out for the rest of the regular season. One of Dalton's favorite weapons, Tyler Eifert, also went into the concussion protocol and did not return. Greg Olsen banged his knee but is reportedly fine (they had the game pretty much in hand at that point). Vincent Jackson left with a knee injury and did not return. Charles Clay missed the rest of his game after suffering a back injury. T.J. Yeldon hurt his ankle and then returned, only to hurt his knee and then be lifted from the action for good on Sunday. Also note that Todd Gurley left the game very late in the fourth quarter with a knee tweak, but it is reportedly a non-issue.
If you survived this week then congratulations on probably either making it in your league's playoffs or getting through the first round! Also shoutout to those teams that made it through their respective bye week unscathed.

FAAB Waiver Wire Bids - Quarterbacks
Tyrod Taylor (QB, BUF) – FAAB Bid: $3

Tyrod Taylor built on the momentum from a great game against Kansas City last week by throwing for 268 yards, one touchdown, and one interception while also rushing for 53 yards on eight totes. Taylor continues to construct some continuity with Sammy Watkins, which definitely helps his own passing stats and is also just wise given that he is far and away the most talented receiver on the team. TyGod is running pretty well right now, and he showed the nice rushing floor that he can provide. He didn't break 300 yards or throw for multiple touchdowns, but he still finished the week with 22.7 fantasy points according to Fleaflicker standard scoring. That'll do.
Buffalo now gets the Redskins, Cowboys, and Jets to finish up 2015. A stretch against the NFC East right now could play very well, as none of those teams have a winning record. With Karlos Williams still injured, this also digs a bit into the effectiveness of the run game, meaning Tyrod might just have to step up a bit. He's showing good development through this year, and he can definitely be an asset to your team down the stretch.
Ryan Fitzpatrick (QB, NYJ) - FAAB Bid: $2

I'll say it again: Fitzpatrick is on fire since he trimmed the beard. In Week 12 he rocked the Dolphins for 277 yards, four touchdowns, and zero turnovers, and against the Giants' terrible secondary he passed for 390 yards and two touchdowns. He followed these games up with 263 yards passing and three touchdowns (plus 23 yards rushing) against the lackluster Titans' defense. Most of those numbers came in the first half alone as the Jets jumped all over Tennessee. He has one of the best pairs of wide receivers in Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker at his disposal, along with a good receiving back in Bilal Powell.
Fitzpatrick and the Jets now face the Cowboys, Patriots, and Bills to end the regular season. The Cowboys have shown their toughness lately and aren't to be taken lightly, but the Jets passing offense is for real. Fitzy may not be the best or most consistent quarterback out there, but he is a much better fantasy quarterback than real life quarterback, he's got a hot hand right now, and that is what we care about. Scoop him if he's sitting there.
Alex Smith (QB, KC) – FAAB Bid: $1

Alex Smith failed to breach the 20 point threshold this week after doing so in four out of his last five games, but he still put up 16.55 in a game where the Chiefs barely found the end zone. Smith threw an interception for the first time since Week 3, but he still found Albert Wilson for a long touchdown and chipped in 40 yards rushing on five carries. He's Tyrod with a lower ceiling pretty much. He is somehow bringing that game manager role to a new level. He only threw for 162 yards last week, and this Sunday he only threw for 191, yet he's still producing.
Now K.C. travels to Baltimore, then plays Cleveland at home, and then finishes the year against Oakland at home. Please point to any of those teams and tell me who I should be afraid of if I'm considering Alex Smith? That's right. He continues to fly under the radar because of his reputation. His floor is still terrifyingly low from years past, but the bell curve of his potential outcomes seems to really be bunching up around that 20-24 point mark right now as opposed to being more like 12-16 points. The Ravens are good against the run and still vulnerable to the pass. The Browns are just plain vulnerable. If you're struggling to find an option at QB for the championship weeks and Smith is still out there, give him a look.
Kirk Cousins (QB, WAS) – FAAB Bid: $1

Cousins and the Washington ballclub had a disgusting game last week against the Cowboys on Monday night, but much to the Cowboys' credit they do have a pretty good defense as of late. This week Cousins squared off with the Chicago defense (another under the radar improved unit) and threw for 300 yards, one touchdown, and one interception while also rushing for 13 yards and a touchdown on a crafty keeper on the read option. Cousins has all of his weapons around him, a speedy DeSean Jackson to stretch the field, a possession receiver in Pierre Garcon, a young, quick slot guy in Jamison Crowder, and a reliable and big target in Jordan Reed.
Couple this with the fact that the Redskins still can't seem to figure out how to run the ball all that consistently and a questionable defense, and you've got a good recipe for Cousins to have opportunities to put up numbers. From here on out he faces the Bills, Eagles, and Cowboys. Not the prettiest of matchups, but the potential is there.
FAAB Waiver Wire Bids - Running Backs
Tim Hightower (NO, RB) - FAAB Bid: $10

Tim Hightower managed to take 2015 by storm by taking over for Mark Ingram. He scored his first touchdown since September 11th of 2011 on Sunday, rushing for 85 yards on 28 carries and catching one ball for ten yards. The Saints will face the Lions, Jaguars, and Falcons to end the regular season. The Bucs are one of the strongest rushing defenses in the league, which contributed to Hightower's ~3.0 YPC, but the pure volume showed that the Saints really have no problem utilizing him heavily, and also that they really, really dislike C.J. Spiller.
Shaun Draughn (SF, RB) - FAAB Bid: $5

Carlos Hyde is now on the IR and is done for the year, meaning that it is Shaun Draughn's team from here on out. Draughn's been performing quite well in Hyde's stead, but the 49ers struggled to get much of anything going on Sunday. Draughn carried the ball 11 times for 43 yards, but was only able to chip in two catches for eight yards (on three targets). For what it's worth, the rushing totals are in line with his averages, but it was the passing game that floundered and hurt his overall production. Just look at his past weeks. In Week 11 against Seattle he only rushed for 37 yards on 12 carries, but got eight catches for 40 yards on 11 targets. Facing the Cardinals in Week 12, he rushed for 51 yards on 15 carries and caught all five targets for 35 yards. In Week 13 against the Bears he rushed for 36 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries and caught five of six targets for 50 yards.
Draughn is proving to be flex worthy in standard leagues and a RB2 type in PPR leagues. It really hurts that Draughn couldn't do well against the worst rushing defense in the league in the Cleveland Browns, but now the 49ers face the Bengals (yeesh), Lions (meh), and Rams (ugh). I don't particularly want to play Draughn in any of those matchups in standard, but in PPR leagues he seems to have a relatively safe floor as he's the only real running back for San Francisco. We saw his "rock bottom" against Cleveland this past Sunday, but repeating that dull effort seems unlikely even in a poor matchup.
DuJuan Harris (SEA, RB) - FAAB Bid: $5

This is not an advisable move, but we have to talk about it. Thomas Rawls broke his ankle and tore some ligaments down there, only to walk off the field because he's a certified beast. The Ravens have a pretty good run defense, but it still wasn't encouraging to see Harris only muster 42 yards on 18 carries, and we all know that he's bounced around and been fairly ineffective in past games. Fred Jackson was stuck in his complementary back role and did not see a real uptick in usage once Rawls went down. When I switched over to the Seahawks game and saw a guy with long dreadlocks bouncing around in the backfield for Seattle I honestly had no idea who was running the ball. Harris does need to be picked up because he is a starting running back in the NFL, and the Seahawks face the lousy Browns defense next week (followed by the Rams and Cardinals). Do note that as of now DuJuan Harris and Bryce Brown are going to be "battling for snaps" so you can throw a waiver bid at Brown too if you're desperate.
Spencer Ware (KC, RB) – FAAB Bid: $5

When Charcandrick West came back last week for Week 13's tilt against the Raiders he out-touched Ware, though it was Spencer Ware who got much more looks into the red zone (including punching one of them in). Spencer Ware left the game against the Chargers in Week 14 with a rib injury (diagnosed as bruised ribs right now), but the snap count remained about the same as Week 13. West tallied 36 snaps to Ware's 16 (Week 13 had a 34/17 split). West rushed ten times for 54 yards while Ware rushed eight times for 52 yards. Both were quite effective even though the Chiefs offense as a whole was actually struggling to get anything going.
This is pretty much how the backfield was projected to be with both of them active. Ware is the bigger guy who can punch in the ball on the goal line, whereas West is the smaller and shiftier type who is more suited for the "between the 20s" work. As such, West should see more snaps, but Ware will still get a chance to shine and won't disappear. The Chiefs get to pick on the Ravens, Browns, and Raiders to finish 2015. The Ravens are pretty good against the run, but the Chiefs are very committed to utilizing their running backs and those other matchups certainly make Ware and West both viable candidates for starting during the playoffs.
James White (NE, RB) – FAAB Bid in PPR Leagues: $5

James White showed again that he has some faith from Tom Brady by garnering six targets in their game, catching four of them for 38 yards (he also punched in a two yard touchdown). He has the trust of Brady and Belichick to be the passing down back. White has now seen 19 targets in the past two weeks, with 13 of them coming from last week's "oh crap we're losing to the Eagles we need to catch up quickly" offense, but all the same he is clearly the guy. LeGarrette Blount left the game with a hip injury and Brandon Bolden was the one to step up in that role, though I don't think anyone would have pegged James White to fill those shoes. The point is that he has looked really good out there for New England and it was clear that Brady isn't afraid to look his way coming out of the backfield. While the Pats probably won't be falling behind like they were in Philly anytime soon, White will still see usage, just don't count on a game like the one against the Eagles for the rest of the way.
Denard Robinson (JAC, RB) - FAAB Bid: $3

T.J. Yeldon left the game on Sunday with an ankle injury but he came back, only to leave later with a knee injury. It's safe to say he's a bit banged up. That said, no reports have come out regarding any serious injury for Yeldon, but with Toby Gerhart on the IR it was Denard's show once Yeldon went down. He gashed the soft Colts defense for 75 rushing yards and a touchdown on 14 carries along with a 12 yard catch. Jacksonville gets to feast on a broken Falcons team and the horrid Saints defense in the next two weeks, and then finish with a Week 17 bout with the Texans. If Yeldon is limited at all, Denard Robinson could have a chance to contribute in those plus matchups and he is absolutely worth rostering for this stretch run.
Jay Ajayi (MIA, RB) – FAAB Bid: $2

The Dolphins have a new OC, former QB coach Zac Taylor, who said he was committed to running the ball. Unfortunately for Ajayi, most of this went through Lamar Miller who finished with 113 yards against the Ravens, while Ajayi only had four carries for 12 yards and zero targets in the passing game. It's difficult to project this offense moving forward since the sample size under Taylor's play calling is so small, but we have a job to do here. It seems as though Taylor wants to limit how much Ryan Tannehill really has to do and will lean on the running game with Miller as a 1A and Ajayi a 1B.
Perhaps it was more that he felt that Miller profiled as a better runner in order to beat the Ravens' personnel, but all the same this is not encouraging for those who were hoping for Ajayi's usage to continue trending upwards. The majority of Ajayi's value is his being a handcuff. If he were to get the lion's share of snaps in the backfield he would have great value, but for now he is a low-end to mediocre option with great upside if Miller goes down. For what it's worth, Miami faces the softer defenses of the Chargers and Colts next, and then the Patriots to end the year. You can throw Ajayi in there as a hail mary play if you'd like against those first two defenses, but this is not recommended as of now.
Theo Riddick (DET, RB) - FAAB Bid in PPR Leagues: $2

The Lions resurgence really stalled out against the Rams, as Aaron Donald made the Lions' offensive line his lunch. Of course this meant that there were plenty of checkdowns to Riddick to be had as a result. Riddick finished the day with eleven targets, catching seven balls for 44 yards. He also rushed three times for 18 yards. In Week 12 Riddick caught all five of his targets for 62 yards and a touchdown. In Week 13 against the Packers he caught five of six targets for 27 yards. Ameer Abdullah does seem to be taking back the majority of snaps at running back, and Joique Bell will mix in as well, but Abdullah still wasn't getting the passing down work and it seems to be strictly Riddick's territory. They know what they've got in Theo. Available in two thirds of leagues, Riddick shouldn't be forgotten in PPR leagues. Don't forget about him as Detroit faces the Saints next (ooh la la) and then the 49ers and Bears to round out the year.
Others To Note:
Bilal Powell (NYJ, RB) - FAAB Bid in PPR Leagues: $2

It appears the Jets have finally found a really nice way to utilize Powell out of the backfield. He is showing some strength in his runs and his usually reliable set of hands in the passing game. With defenses trying their best to key in on Marshall and Decker, Powell can take advantage of the linebackers in coverage. Powell built on last week's game of 13 targets, where he caught eight of them for 91 yards and a touchdown with 46 receiving yards and a touchdown on five catches (all targets were caught). He isn't inept at rushing either, getting 36 yards on only three carries. The Jets will face the Cowboys, Patriots, and Bills from here on out. In PPR leagues he's definitely worth a buck if you need some help. The Cowboys are difficult to run over, so Powell may be called on to run some nifty routes and screen passes.
Robert Turbin (DAL, RB) - FAAB Bid: $1

Turbin is the handcuff to own in Dallas. We all know that McFadden has his injury history, let alone the fact that so many running backs have gone down already, we all know it could be anyone's week to get hurt any given Sunday. Turbin behind that offensive line is certainly worth speculating on, though Tony Romo going down really hurts the potency of the Dallas offense. At least it was nice to see Turbin rip off some good runs and find the end zone this past Sunday. Dallas faces the Jets, Buffalo, and then Washington. The Jets and the Bills aren't the greatest matchups for those critical 15th and 16th weeks of the season, but if you can stash a running back then Turbin shouldn't be at the end of the list.
Dan Herron (IND, RB) – FAAB Bid: $1

Herron shouldn't see much work with standalone value moving forward even though he is taking over Ahmad Bradshaw's role. As we saw with Bradshaw though, that really doesn't mean much. Herron caught all three targets against Pittsburgh for 16 yards, also rushing twice for eight yards. This past game against the Jaguars Herron caught two targets for five yards and rushed for 16 yards on four carries. Nothing special at all. Herron is just a handcuff here, and I suppose a flex play in the deepest of PPR leagues.
FAAB Waiver Wire Bids - Wide Receivers
DeVante Parker (MIA, WR) - FAAB Bid: $8

I don't think anyone would have projected a game that looked the same as Week 12's against the Jets where Ryan Tannehill threw the ball 58 times. Then again, this was pretty much the polar opposite with him only throwing for 86 yards and completing nine passes. Guess what though? Parker still made value and had a tremendous catch where he showed off his high pointing skills for a touchdown on a lofted ball. With Rishard Matthews out with a rib injury, the door is open for DeVante Parker to finally see the field in earnest and show Miami why they drafted him. Parker has stepped up for them in the past two games, catching a touchdown in both, and should continue to do so. He needs to be owned in all leagues, despite the apparent scaling down of the passing game out for Miami under new offensive coordinator Zac Taylor.
Tyler Lockett (SEA, WR) - FAAB Bid: $5

The Seahawks are starting to figure it out on offense. They are missing Marshawn Lynch no doubt (and now Thomas Rawls), but they're putting their faith on Russell Wilson's arm and he is rewarding them. The past four weeks have seen the Seahawks put up 141 points and Wilson has been balling. Most of this has gone through Doug Baldwin, but in Week 11 Lockett scored two touchdowns and this past weekend he did that again. In their past four games Lockett has 22 targets and 20 receptions. When the ball goes his way he comes down with it. Coaches and quarterbacks notice this. The Seahawks get to pick on the Browns, Rams, and Cardinals to close the year. The hardest matchup comes in Week 17 when many of your fantasy football seasons will be over. Bonus points (and he's probably already owned) for leagues where return yards matter, but the fact that he can chip in a return touchdown any given week on top of his receiving stats only sweetens the pot a bit. Get it.
Dorial Green-Beckham (TEN, WR) - FAAB Bid: $4

It's a little troublesome to recommend and chase players after they are involved in absolute shootouts that aren't going to be repeated with any consistency. The Titans put up 42 points to stave off the Jaguars' own 39 point effort against them in Week 12, with DGB catching five of his six targets for 119 yards and a touchdown. His last three weeks have seen him get target totals of six, five, and six, so at least some consistency is coming forth with his involvement. This was followed up by seven targets against the Jets where he caught three of them for 53 yards.
You know the deal by now with DGB, he's a huge guy with plenty of potential that needs to be brought out and refined. He had some ugly drops in the game against New York but it was clear that his size is just a matchup nightmare. He'll get to test his mettle against the Patriots, Texans, and Colts in the waning weeks of the 2015 regular season. His size makes him somewhat matchup proof, but obviously if he goes against Malcolm Butler and Vontae Davis that isn't good.
Kamar Aiken (BAL, WR) – FAAB Bid: $3

Looks like we might just be talking about this until the end of the year. He is the #1 receiver for the Ravens, and all #1 receivers should be rostered. Available in many leagues, you're going to want to find a spot for him if you need some help at wide out. He did well against a strong Rams' secondary, posting five catches for 50 yards and a touchdown on eight targets, he then posted six catches for 80 yards and a touchdown against the soft Browns' defense, and last week caught six balls for 48 yards against the Dolphins on 11 targets. This week he caught five balls on seven targets for 90 yards (against Seattle no less). It won't be pretty but the guy is drowning in targets lately. Since the Ravens came out of their bye in Week 9 he has posted target totals of 14, 8, 10, 11, and now 7.
Aiken is simply going to get plenty of opportunities to put up numbers despite the bounty of fleas that surround him. His ownership is hovering around the 40% mark, despite a string of nice games. He didn't score this week, so people probably won't be flocking to him in any way. You can get him for cheap if he's still available I wager. I said last week how this situation sounds like someone built a decently functioning robot out of scrap parts at a junkyard, but again, it's something. Now here's the scary part (as if all of that wasn't scary enough), Baltimore finishes their season against the Chiefs, Steelers, and Bengals. Aiken might get 10 targets a week out of those and fall into a touchdown or two thanks to nothing but opportunity and volume, but it's not the best setup. PPR owners will want to pay more attention, but standard leaguers, well I couldn't blame you for wanting to just stay away.
Ted Ginn (CAR, WR) – FAAB Bid: $2

Last week I tried to talk about how Ted Ginn was the guy to own over Devin Funchess, and at least I can pat myself on the back for that one thing.
Ginn saw only three targets, but the connection and timing was there and Ginn didn't drop them this time. He caught two of them for 120 yards and two touchdowns. He is burner and a boom/bust type who relies on the long ball much more often than your average wide receiver. Luckily Cam Newton can sling the ball very far and the Panthers are a juggernaut right now, so Ginn is getting plenty of chances.
Carolina gets the Giants, Falcons, and Buccaneers now. The Giants and Buccaneers are two defenses that we target for their susceptibility in the secondary, and the Falcons are trending downwards quickly. Ginn can beat all of these secondaries deep week in week out. Know what you're getting into, but Ginn should be owned.
Willie Snead (NO, WR) – FAAB Bid: $2

Willie Snead returned to action just in time to beat up the Buccaneers' secondary. He pushed Brandon Coleman back down to fourth in the wide receiver pecking order in New Orleans and stepped back into his regular duties. He actually led the Saints' receivers in snaps (60 to Cooks' 59 and Colston's 56). He caught seven of eight targets for 122 yards and looked very good out there. Now the Saints get the Lions, Jaguars, and Falcons to end the year. Snead owners shouldn't be afraid of only of those defenses, with Week 16 looking very promising against Jacksonville in Championship Week.
Others To Note:
Seth Roberts (OAK, WR) – FAAB Bid: $1

The inconsistent slot receiver for the Raiders struck in a big way two weeks ago, catching six balls for 113 yards and two touchdowns in a game where Derek Carr and the Raiders took full advantage of a McCourty-less Titans secondary. Last week he caught four balls for 51 yards, so he didn't just fall off. This past weekend in a tough matchup against the stingiest secondary in the league, the Broncos, he caught two balls for 20 yards and a touchdown. The Raiders seem very committed to moving the ball through the air more than just about any other team, and the tale continued on Sunday. Roberts will be behind Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree in the pecking order always, but sometimes that bodes well for him. He won't be all that consistent, but the Raiders are throwing enough where it seems to call for a third player to benefit per week in the passing game. Whether that's Roberts or Mychal Rivera or Clive Walford, well that's your guessing game to play. Roberts does look impressive though.
Markus Wheaton (PIT, WR) - FAAB Bid: $1

Well it looks like the Steelers are in the business of scoring points relentlessly again. Markus Wheaton's involvement is certainly surprising, but we can't really just ignore it thanks to his poor reputation. Wheaton had 13 targets two games ago, whereas he had seen 12 targets in the previous four games. In last weekend's game against the Colts he had six targets, of which he caught three for 50 yards and a touchdown. This week he saw seven targets come his way, catching four of them for 65 yards.
The Steelers get the Broncos next, which really doesn't line up too well as a pretty playoff matchup, but then again Wheaton's best game came against Seattle so maybe it can benefit him to face some good defenses who can bottle up Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant a bit. After that game the Steelers get to tee off against the Ravens and Browns' secondaries, so, have fun with that Baltimore and Cleveland. Big Ben and company should have their way with those defenses.
FAAB Waiver Wire Bids - Tight Ends
Zach Miller (CHI, TE) - FAAB Bid: $2

Zach Miller stepped up for Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears in a big way on Sunday, posting five catches for 85 yards and a touchdown on six targets. Martellus Bennett is done for the year along with Marquess Wilson. Eddie Royal returned to action but is clearly way down on the pecking order (only seeing two targets). The Bears have a great group of running backs who can help in the passing game, but for the most part the Bears have Alshon Jeffery and then Zach Miller is the second best option for Cutler to throw to. The Bears face the Vikings, Buccaneers, and Lions to end 2015. The Vikings are pretty banged up on defense and the Bucs are certainly known to struggle against the tight end so that's a solid pair of matchups.
Zach Ertz (PHI, TE) – FAAB Bid: $2

The Eagles seem to be realizing that they have a great athlete in Zach Ertz who can convert for them in big opportunities. He turned seven targets into five catches for 98 yards, including one big catch and run where he leveled a tackler with a hard shoulder and then stiff armed another defender for an extra ten yards or so. The Eagles take on the Cardinals, Redskins, and Giants the rest of the way, so while the Arizona matchup isn't ideal, boy if you play into Week 17 you've got to love seeing the Giants lined up even if you don't have any real faith in this offense.
Heath Miller (PIT, TE) - FAAB Bid: $2

Heath Miller returned to action with ten targets coming his way, catching all ten of them for 66 yards. If you're in a PPR scoring setting then that's just gravy. If not, 6.6 points is still pretty solid and you've got to be encouraged by the amount of looks. Ben Roethlisberger knows he has a trustworthy checkdown safety valve type of guy in the grizzled veteran. Pittsburgh faces Denver's tough defense next week, and then pick on Baltimore and Cleveland to finish out 2015.
Will Tye (NYG, TE) - FAAB Bid: $1

Will Tye has turned in 50+ yards in his past three games with 19 targets combined in those three games. The Giants simply do not have a running game and after Odell Beckham the Giants don't have any real consistent "#2" type receiver. Any given week it might be Dwayne Harris, Rueben Randle (doubtful), Will Tye, or even Shane Vereen. The Giants are an inconsistent bunch, but having a big target in Will Tye out there is nice for Manning and when the Giants' passing game is clicking you can believe that Tye has a good chance at getting you 5-8 points and if he scores a touchdown, well then bully for you. The rub is that Tye and the Giants play the Panthers next week, so this is a bit of a last ditch effort on a guy who is low owned. After that they get Minnesota in Week 16 and then face Philadelphia in Week 17.
