Week 13 Wide Receiver (WR) Rankings Analysis

By Zach Wilkens (@LopsidedTrades)

Let’s talk Broncos receivers. The expert consensus continues to have Demaryius Thomas ahead of Emmanuel Sanders. I saw enough last week to put Sanders ahead although I do like both as fantasy starters. Sanders and Brock Osweiler just looked so much more in tune with one another.

I definitely don’t expect 1 catch on 13 targets for Demaryius Thomas again (I have him at WR18) but it’s hard to imagine the fortunes of these two players switching so much that DT outperforms Sanders.

I also wrote about liking Matt Hasselbeck in my QB column so it shouldn’t be a surprise that I am high on Donte Moncrief as well. At WR25 I consider him a high-end flex. The Steelers give up the 4th most points to WRs so if Moncrief could do well in a worse matchup vs the Bucs last week, I feel pretty good about him here.

One guy I am very low on this week is Brandin Cooks for one simple reason: Josh Norman. Willie Snead is out and Marques Colston primarily plays the slot so Cooks should get a healthy dose of Norman. As we’ve seen all year, that is very very bad for a WR’s fantasy outlook. I have him outside my top 30 and I suggest looking elsewhere.

For a deeper play - I’ve been a big fan of Devante Parker since the draft. Rishard Matthews went down last week and he finally got a big opportunity and ran with it, getting 80 yards and his first career touchdown. He’s far from safe but it is a great matchup vs the Ravens (3rd most points to WRs). If you need a flier, Parker is your man this week.
