Syndergaard Starting Game 3, Potentially Game 7

Noah Syndergaard will start Game 3 of the World Series for the New York Mets against the Kansas City Royals.

The rookie right-hander will pitch start the first ever World Series game at Citi Field next Friday. Syndergaard will pitch in what is normally a pivotal game in any series. It could be 1-1 or 2-0 in favor of one of the teams, which makes his start a huge one. It also means that if there is a Game 7, the 23-year-old will start for the Mets.

Syndergaard has 1-1 record with a 2.77 ERA over two starts and one inning of relief this postseason. He's racked up an elite 13.85 K/9 over that span, which is great for a rookie pitcher, let alone a starter pitching in his first postseason.

The Royals are the hardest team in MLB to strikeout, which means Syndergaard has to be careful of not losing control. Walks used to be a problem for him, which could potentially resurface in the World Series.
