Week 6 Wide Receiver (WR) Rankings Analysis

By Zach Wilkens (@LopsidedTrades)

Near the top of the rankings, it looks like Odell Beckham Jr. is potential major concern to be a game-time decision in a Monday night game. I think you need to keep him in your lineup. I expect him to play at a very high level assuming he plays. He is one of the few players I am willing to risk a late game GTD for. If possible, add someone like Rueben Randle or Dwayne Harris just to make sure you have a second option.

“Should Antonio Brown be benched?” is a question I never really imagined hearing this season but Michael Vick has managed to make it a legitimate question. Brown has been held to under 50 yards back-to-back weeks following a record setting streak of 35 such games. At WR17 my stance is: He should probably be in your lineup, but if you are lucky enough to have a great alternative, do the unthinkable and put him on the bench. It’s a tough matchup vs the Cardinals and Vick has given us no reason to feel good about things changing for Brown until Ben Roethlisberger gets back.

One guy I’d have in my lineup ahead of Brown? That would be Eric Decker. I really like everything I’ve seen from Decker this season. Even despite the presence of Brandon Marshall, Decker has managed to score in all three games he has played in. I don’t think he was 100% for the Week 4 game either. He should be well rested and ready to put up big numbers against a banged up Redskins defense (that is missing both of their starting corners this week).

Alshon Jeffery is once again questionable. Is this the week he returns? At this point I’ve stopped even trying to guess but I do have him as a top-20 WR if he plays. It’s a good matchup against the Lions but with the Bears’ bye coming up it makes a lot of sense for them to hold him out until Week 8. It’s been a tough time for Jeffery owners, but stay patient and I think you’ll be rewarded in the second half.
