Week 4 Wide Receiver (WR) Rankings Analysis

By Zach Wilkens (@LopsidedTrades)

I was surprised to find myself high on T.Y. Hilton at WR8 this week. Sure he didn’t manage to grab a touchdown last week, but his 94 yards were a promising sign. Over Hilton’s last three games against Jacksonville he has averaged 115 yards per game. I don’t see why that will stop this week, so make sure he is in your lineups.

It says a lot about Amari Cooper’s success so far that I have him at WR13 and I am down on him (consensus WR8). He has been extremely impressive so far, just as advertised. In a good matchup vs the Bears he should have no problem continuing that.

I expect Colin Kaepernick to bounce back, and as he does so should Torrey Smith. Smith has had two quiet games and one very big game, which is pretty much how he works. Based on the matchup I am expecting a bigger game. The Packers defense is solid but their secondary doesn’t really come close to the talent of the Cardinals (the 49ers' Week 3 opponent). That should mean Kaep will be able to actually get the ball to his receivers.

There are a couple injured players that I like more than most if they do actually play. Those two are Eric Decker and Sammy Watkins. At this point both seem 50/50 to play, so you’ll definitely have to keep an eye on the injury reports. If Decker is out that is definitely good news for Brandon Marshall who was already a red-hot must-start.

I know Terrance Williams put up a goose egg last week but I think he can be a nice flex play this week. Even against the Saints, I don’t think the Cowboys and Brandon Weeden can rely solely on their running backs to stay in contention again. Williams isn’t a great player but he is talented and can certainly find the end zone this week.
