Daily Fantasy College Football - DraftKings CFB DFS Picks for 10/3

Welcome back to my daily fantasy college football picks for DraftKings, where I bring you some of my favorite CFB DFS picks for this week. Week 6 of the College Football season brings plenty of exciting matchups, especially since we're starting to get an idea of which offenses and defenses we should be excited about.

Expect teams to fight tooth and nail when it comes to playing within their conferences, since these kinds of games are for all the marbles when it comes to the new playoff system.

Always remember to consider the home/away factor when trying to project which team will run the most plays. If you're actively watching these squads, you may already have a feel for the CFB DFS sleepers and you can begin to trust your gut a little more. Prospects are all about probability and compatibility, and you're going to need to become more intuitive if you want to ensure fantasy wins weekend after weekend. Let's get to it.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

DraftKings CFB Lineup Picks - Fantasy College Football (Week 6)

10/3: Texas Tech Red Raiders (3-1) @Baylor Bears (4-0)

This is the first conference game for these two members Big 12 teams. Baylor is expected to claim victory over the Red Raiders for the fifth year in a row, and most likely with a comfortable gap in the score. You can always count on Baylor to deliver big numbers on the fantasy boards, with credit to their M.O. of running up the score in their aggressive spread offense. Bears QB Seth Russell ($10,100) maintains a whopping 36.3 FPPG (fantasy points per game) average. He's the priciest player on Saturday morning's slate, but return on investment is key with quarterbacks because of their high-end fantasy salaries. WR Corey Coleman (8,500, 36.1 FPPG) is currently Russell's favorite target, and he's more likely than any receiver on the docket to give you the bang for your buck that you're looking for this weekend. As always, the TEs on either team are more than likely to disappoint rather than provide much production in exchange for their $3,000 salaries.

Iowa Hawkeyes (4-0) @Wisconsin Badgers (3-1)

This matchup isn't as dangerous to dabble in as it appears. Wisconsin is showing similar patterns to last year in terms of performance, but seems to have a more distributed running back committee, with favored RB Melvin Gordon gone to the NFL. That said, Wisconsin has lost to the only ranked team they've played so far, and Iowa isn't going to let them miss a beat without consequence, even in the Badgers' own house. Iowa RB Jordan Canzeri ($5,400, 24.2 FPPG) will be doing a lot of the ball-moving labor, and has had an increasingly growing job description as the season has progressed.

Ohio State Buckeyes (4-0) @ Indiana Hoosiers (4-0)

Both teams are members of the BIG 10 conference, and have yet to give up a win. Both schedules are fairly similar, and perhaps with the exception of the Buckeyes having played Virginia Tech, neither has faced a notable opponent. The Buckeyes have been flexible with benching (not so much platooning) QB Cardale Jones, and he's a gamble since his field time hasn't yielded any big run-ups yet. But you can surely bank on quarterback-turned-WR Braxton Miller ($5,200, 11.2 FPPG), who may even see more passes, since we now know that Urban Meyer isn't afraid to break out JT Barrett-- arguably a better passing QB than Jones.

Florida State Seminoles (3-0)@Wake Forest Demon Deacons (2-2)

After a well-earned bye week, the Seminoles journey to their second conference game of the season, where you can expect the Demon Deacons to be victims in their own house. Running back and Heisman Trophy contender Dalvin Cook ($8,800, 29.4 FPPG) suffered a minor injury two weeks ago when he aided in Florida State's 14-0 shutout of Boston College. Bank on WR Travis Rudolph ($4,300, 13.1 FPPG) to make a few extra plays.

Nebraska Cornhuskers (2-2) @Illinois Fighting Illini (3-1)

This will be the first conference game for either team. Illinois is off to a solid start, but don't be discouraged by it; Nebraska WR Jordan Westerkamp ($5,500, 23.3 FPPG) is a steal, and will inevitably pick up the slack of this weeks' fantasy busts (*cough* Miami, *cough* TCU). Speaking of getting more for less: the quarterback steal of the week is certainly Nebraska's Tommy Armstrong ($7,100, 29.9 FPPG).

Washington State Cougars (2-1) @California Golden Bears (4-0)

This is the second stop on the Cal Bears PAC 12 tour, and they'll be taking no prisoners. QB Jared Goff ($8,600, 24.3 FPPG) is consistent as he is athletically ambitious, so don't shy away from his favorite target, WR Kenny Lawler ($6,300, 22.5 FPPG). The sleeper of the week could very well be RB Daniel Lasco ($5,700, 16.4 FPPG) who-- despite rumors-- will be home at the stadium to help secure the win.
